Hangxiety - Tips & Tricks

Who here deals with it? I’m a mid 30s make and it seems to get worse every year. I only drink on the weekend and very rarely have the physical hangover symptoms; however, my hangxiety has gotten worse as I get older.
Anyone have any successful experiences curbing it? I recently started daily probiotics and vitamins to combat it (recommended by a friend).

Maybe stop drinking....idk...have you tried that?

Is that anxiety after drinking? I would just stop drinking. Maybe take a THC gummy or something instead.

Mine seems to be much worse when I'm dehydrated. Drink some electrolytes and water before and you will feel better.

I don’t want to and my drinking isn’t putting anyone in danger or ruining my relationships

Yeah I’ve got to work on drinking more water in general

You asked for advice, so gave my opinion. Geez, man.
If drinking causes hangovers, which then causes anxiety, it only makes sense to cut out what is the root cause, but you continue to do what you want. Good luck, man.

I've always heard of this as a "Shame-Over." It was always the worst part of any hangover for me. I felt empty the next day.
It's not worth it anymore. Drinking isn't conducive to my active lifestyle and time with my family.

Just stop drinking every weekend. Your brain is telling you something

You talking about the “oh I feel like I did something stupid” anxiety or “holy shite my heart rate feels fast and weird” anxiety?
As I aged the latter is the only hangover symptom I get and it’s awful. Can ruin a day/trip. Hydrating with fluids and electrolytes the day before is the best prevention besides simply not drinking as much

It’s hard to describe but I would say the latter. The doom and gloom even though im not nauseous or anything. It’s almost like the fear of having a panic attack versus actually having one if that makes sense.

Hit a really hard workout ASAP in the morning.

That’s a good one. Saturday and Sundays are usually my “off days” so I’ll look at that.

Sounds like OP is asking for solutions by not making changes on his own

Drink a Bloody Mary that morning and it’ll go away

Right, continue putting toxins in his body to which his brain reacts negatively to, but he thinks he can just drink some electrolytes or hit a hard workout in the morning to fix things.
Avoiding the obvious...

Same here. The older I get the more drinking a few costs me the next day. I haven't figured it out other than just not drinking or only having a beer or two. If I get into liquor I'm a nervous wreck the next day. Even if I don't feel bad physically I'm much more irritable and gloomy. I don't drive or get violent when I drink but it's not really fair to my wife/family for them to have to deal with me being a moody bitch the next day.

I mean I’m not an alcoholic so the AA and stop drinking route isn’t what I’m going to do. I don’t black out or anything, I just want to not feel as bad the day after drinking a few beers. Some of these answers are helpful

I had this exact same problem and got progressively worse with age from 30-35.
I quit drinking last year after a 4 day bender on the 4th of July. The hangxiety was so bad, I vowed to go 90 days without drinking to see if I could do it.
I hit 90 days and never looked back, have not drank anything in over 12 months. Highly recommend, my quality of life is literally infinitely better.

I have a few drinks once or twice a week and one thing I've noticed that even 1 or 2 beers screws my sleep up. My life has definitely improved since I quit drinking daily 2 years ago. It's something that I enjoy a lot so I doubt I'll ever completely quit unless it really becomes a problem.
