I've always been a fan but did a deep dive this weekend. Fragile, Yes Album, and Close to the Edge were all perfect and the Going For the One was great too and Yessongs is a great live album.

I always HATED on them, but I did a dive into their catalog a few years back. The Yes Album is a great record and there's some fine stuff on Close to the Edge.

They had a pretty tight thing going with Howe and Squire. Anderson's vocals were always first rate.

Wakeman, Bruford, and Squire were some of the all time greats on their instruments in rock. Squire's iconic sound, Wakeman's showmanship/sound and participation in some great non-yes tracks over his career. Bruford is royalty- work with Yes, solo and KC to name a few. Legend.

They spawned one of the funniest scenes, too.

And I actually like both versions - classic Yes and "Yes West".

I loved Fragile as a teenager and used to wear that tape out on family road trips. I think you need to be in the right setting/frame of mind for their albums because the long complex nature of their songs/albums doesn't lend itself to jumping from track to track.

They made five great studio albums in the 70's, and Relayer was one of them. Even Tales had a solid 20 minutes of good music out of its four sides. They did those first three in less than two years, which always struck me as pretty incredible. Steve Howe was a hella catalyst.

Squire's bass is what most lead guitarists wish they could do.

How do you leave out Steve Howe?

I'll be seeing them in a couple of weeks in Ft Worth when they open for Deep Purple.

Nice. Heart of the Sunrise (maybe their best song on their best album) is what got me started down this path.

Sharp.................................................distance!

Chris Squire's solo album is also incredible, and I put it up there with any Yes album. Bruford is on that one as well.

Can't believe they stole Kyper's music like that.

They put out most of their music when I was a teen and I bought all the albums at the "record store" Saw them live at their peak at the Municipal Auditorium in New Orleans in 1977. Rick Wakeman put me in a trance.

Covered the hell out of this song as well.

If you haven’t checked out the Drama album- it is fire. Squire is the goat.

Early Yes prior to Rick Wakeman.
Steve Howe wears it out.
