Manchester City 24/25 Season Thread--I didn’t mean Five losses In A Row!!

LOL...it has been two months since anyone has posted about the 4-time champs in their own thread. Way to go boys!
(me included)
Not sure how to feel about this season. I think it's going to be tough going. If it starts out rough, Haaland could start looking to Real Madrid or Barcelona; KDB toward a big payday in Saudi Arabia before retiring; Foden to a big European club for $150million; I think it could fall apart real easily.
Or, Pep could just keep the machine running like a fricking locomotive and plow through the league again.
I really want two trophies this year: Carabao and Community Shield. Sick and tired of losing these on the regular now..

Real has better players (Vini/Mbappe) and Barca can't afford him.
For a team to afford him (transfer and salary), he'd have to go to PSG, another EPL team, or maybe Bayern (if they sell some guys). This is assuming he doesn't go to SA, also. I don't think any team in Italy could come close to affording him.

With all the players in the Euros, I expect a slow start. Maybe slower than the norm. But hopefully they kick it in before the usual run after Christmas.
I want to win everything before Pep goes. Definitely tired of losing Community Shield.
Side note: I grabbed the away shirt for the first time in a long time and really like it. The pictures don’t do them justice. Had no intention on buying until I saw it in person. Now I need to talk myself out of the home shirt before the season starts.

City to sell Alvarez to Atletico for at least £70 million
Profiting bigly on young players if how you run the model football club.

I was afraid of this. Love Alvarez and I think we need him but I get him wanting more playing time and a starting role.
Haaland will never play a full season and we will miss Alvarez’s creativity up top.

Hate this. But thanks for all you did for City. I feel like either they have confidence in someone else or the buying may not be done. One thing I trust is Pep and the org. They haven’t struck out too many times recently.
Side note: went ahead and got the home kit too. So that’s the kiss of death. We will finish second in the PL. But damn they’re nice!

Sucks, one of my favourites. Will be rooting for him at Atletico.

I imagine he's going to become an absolute monster in Madrid and will be sold for some insane amount in a few years.

Community Shield this weekend v. ManU.
If City win this match and then go on to finish 17th, I’ll be ok with it.

If Bernie wasn't my guy and my team I would hate him so much.

Oscar Bobb suffered a pretty serious leg injury in training today. Really bad news.

My 7-YO has gotten big into soccer (now in club and rec leagues), so now I am as well. I was able to take him to see Manchester City (he’s a fan and plays as them on FC24) vs. Chelsea friendly at Ohio Stadium. Hell of a good time, with Haaland getting a hat trick. I’m a Crew fan, but I guess I’ll probably start cheering for them now too this season.

It's not that I'm worried, it's just that I'm very concerned. No Alvarez, no Bobb, and besides Savio, no signings. I trust in Pep, per usual, but man, I am worried this is the end of our greatest chapter.

Rodri confirmed out for Sunday. Still hasn’t been in training

It’s a good thing Chelsea blows.
Not going to lie, kind of excited to go into a season with more questions than usual. Let’s see what we are made of.

I got into soccer 4 years ago when it was one of the few sports that started back during COVID. I chose Wolves as my team but when my son (5 at the time) started watching chose City. So I’m fan of 2 clubs.
It’s funny that when I started watching, I knew nothing about soccer or any clubs. When my son and me started watching, we didn’t know that City was one of the top clubs in the world

Strange lineup for the first match but I’ll take being up 1 at the half. Haaland…all he does is score goals. No really. ALL he does is score goals. I’m not complaining but I thought by now with Pep he would have evolved a tad more. Very impressed with Savinho dominating Cucarella.
