Jacob Hester Love: What's the Main Reason?

With all the love Hester has gotten on the rant over the years, which of these two reasons best explains it:
1. He's an underdog type story, and has defied some odds.

I am sure some rantards love him because he is "white" as a racial reason. But I think a lot of people like him because he is good, busts his arse, never fumbles, and is an underdog. Now part of him being an underdog is that he is white (there just aren't a whole lot of white RBs these days).
People love Trindon Holiday too. He isn't really better that any of the other RBs but because he weighs about a $1.20 and runs faster than anyone makes him a person to like.

There are two types of posters on the Rant:
1) The black guy who refuses to believe a white man can excel in positions like RB, DB, LB, Basketball, etc. ie Hester, Sanders, Hansbrough, Reddick.
2) The white guy who THINKS he was good in High School, and thinks he got the shaft when it comes to getting a chance to play ball.
You can also include the computer geek who probably never played, both black and white.

its a combination. he's a tough hard nose football player that regular fans seem to relate too. he's white, but he also earned our respect while at LSU.
