Paul Pierce has always been an unlikeable, insecure douche.

Lol Paul Pierce is one of the least self aware former athletes I can recall. The clip of Pierce a couple years ago getting roasted on ESPN trying to argue with Jalen Rose that he was a better player than DWade still gives me second hand embarrassment
I remember something about him getting upset during his final year when he wasn’t getting the Kobe farwell treatment he apparently thought he deserved
Pierce was a very, very good player but was never in that tier above him he thinks he’s in. He should thank Kevin Garnett daily for pushing to come to Boston and giving Pierce that 2008 title he’s gotten so much mileage out of

It probably would've happened in a smaller way had he stayed with the Celtics and retired.
It was less likely to happen when he spent the last four years of his career ring chasing with the likes of the geriatric Brooklyn Nets, the Wizards and the Clippers.

you’re aware he traded away from the Celtics right?

Please educate me.
I hear Draymond talking smack about a farewell tour, but i don't see Pierce on the court. Am I missing something? Wasn't he always #34?
Was he on the bench? I'm so lost

Yes in probably the worst trade ever. I forgot that he didn't ask for the trade but worked with them to get to a contender.
Both he and KG were at the end of their careers and Boston was about to rebuild.
He could've retired when it was pretty obvious he was done after the Nets year. He didn't have to sign with the Wizards and Clippers to average under 10 ppg.

You’re aware he wanted to be traded to the Nets and even convinced Garnett to forego his no trade clause so they could go together right?

This is during Pierce’s last season in 2017 when he averaged like 3 PPG as an end of the bench ring chaser with the Clippers when he had been washed for a few years atp. IIRC prior to this game, Pierce made some comments to the media that he wouldn’t say no to getting a farewell tour like Kobe got the year before
During the game Pierce was on the bench jawing at Blake Griffin telling him to go at Draymond. Draymond snaps and starts roasting Pierce that he ain’t Kobe and “they don’t love you like that” while waiting on the free throws and the audio was clear as day on the broadcast

Paul Pierce is more unlikable than Lebron, and I didn't even think that was possible.
