I have an Ego+ 18".
It has been good for smaller/quick jobs, but not really great for cutting all day.
I can cut and buck ˜3-10"-12" diameter trees on one 5 Ah battery.

Cant say enough about my Dewalt. I upgraded to an Oregon chain and its been bullet proof. Throw that 60v battery on it and its a beast

Whatever brand tools you already buy. They are all probably pretty good. My 60v dewalt is plenty good enough for my needs.

I’m an electrical engineer and love battery everything. Probably have 10 battery dewalt tools, battery lawn equipment, and a dozen diy battery projects.
My chainsaw is a gas Stihl. Got it after two electric ones broke and my old arse neighbor embarrassed me with his. I had previously sworn I’d never own another 2 stroke engine. The electric motors/drivers are fine(except bearings) but the chain tensioners are usually super cheap on those and hard to find parts for.

whatever you get, get extra batteries. I borrowed a friends 36v Makita for basic yard trimming and while it did a fine job I went through two sets of batteries before I finished the yard. This was taking down 4 or 5 total 6" - 8" diameter dead trees and taking bigger branches off others, and chopping up the felled trees into smaller bits - all soft wood, mostly aspen

Not what was asked but I will add a recommendation.

I bought one of the Stihl hand pruners last year.

I couldn't recommend this thing enough. It is perfect to carry on a 4wheeler when you just need to cut something small.

I’ve had a Stihl msa200c for over 5 years. I recommend this unit. I did purchase the ap300 battery. It lasts longer than me most of the time.

I was fishing on Toledo Bend on Sunday with my son and he tells me a hurricane was headed to Houston area. I thought the damn thing was headed to Mexico when we left home on Wednesday (so much for weather models).

We were set to stay all this week but rushed home to play hero for the wife. I have four Stihls of all sizes at the camp but didnt think I would need a chainsaw - boy was I wrong. Instead of another gas saw, I decided I would just buy a good battery operated saw and use it later to trim shooting lanes. So I went to the Depot this morning and bought a Dewalt 16” w/60v battery and damn it cuts good! I cut up two 16” hardwoods into firewood in no time and still had plenty of battery left. I’m sold on battery!

Thanks for all the rec’s!

Project Farm guy says Echo.

ETA: looks like I was late. Dewalt was his #1 on the first video he did. Would also make sense if you have other dewalt tools to use the battery with.

Yep, I went with the Makita for this reason.... And been pleased.

However if I was tooled up (with batteries) the Milwaukee, DeWalt, etc would all be fine. In my experience one individual tool might be better but overall the whole line is going to be pretty good with these quality of brands.

I have an Ego. We sell them and for clearing trails in Mississippi and cutting small trees, it’s amazing. So much easier and convenient than my gas chainsaw. We’ve sold several and haven’t had any come back with issues. That’s not to say we won’t tomorrow. Lol
