in the theaters back in the day? After watching Predator for the 80th time, I started thinking how cool it would have been to see it in the theater even though I was only 6.

If not, Jaws

I’m old enough to have seen most of the modern special effects filled films

One I’m glad I got to see that was great for everything was Lawrence of Arabia

When The Matrix came out, everyone was raving about it, but I never bothered to go see it.

When the DVD came out, I remember watching it alone on my TV, and the red/blue pill scene came up, the melting mirror, getting ejected from the pod, and I was so confused. Then I figured out what was going on, sitting there alone, wishing I had experienced that moment in the theater with other confused people.

You can never experience that for the first time again, but I finally did see The Matrix in the theater when AMC had it last year. I had already seen it ten times, but it was still great to see it in the theater for the first time!

I saw raider in theatres a few years ago as a summer special and that was awesome.

So maybe one of the star wars. another big action adventure that was in theatres before my time.

I'm lucky enough to have seen all of my favorite movies growing up in the 70's and 80's.

One that comes to mind though that is a little before my time is "Bullitt".

Also "The Searchers"

They had it back in theaters about 10 years ago.

But where I lived the Cineplex put it on one of their smaller screens. What a waste.

I didn't bother. Maybe one day I'll see it in the theaters.

All time theatre movie.

I’ll never forget being in there as a kid.

That T Rex scene for the first time in a theatre was insane.

I watched The Matrix on a 19' TV with no sound while riding on a chartered party bus. My company's home office was in Houston. We went down on the bus for the 30th anniversary party. Riding home to Dallas on the bus, most people wanted to sleep, so they showed The Matrix, but left the sound all the way down. I couldn't take my eyes off of it with no sound. I saw it the 1st week it was in theaters. A promotions guy that worked for the paper I sold advertising for had a DVD someone gave him.He also did promotions for a topless club, so he could have gotten the DVD from someone there.

This

Would love to have a Time Machine and go back to see Gone With the Wind when it premiered. Complete with the old time theater experience and intermission.

Would've been cool.

I got dragged to the cinema as a small child for Empire Strikes Back.

Good lord we stood in line forever, it just wrapped around in circles..... One big screen, had to queue up to get a seat. Not sure I'd want to replicate that experience despite loving the movie. Felt like standing in line for Space Mountain at Disneyland.... Where the placard says, from this spot expect to wait two hours. Times were different.
