stock price will probably be in the 70's . This will be back in the low 100's at some point over the next year or two. I may pick up a few shares just because the DIV seems to be growing nicely over the last 5 years. Nike as a Div investment.

Why such a large drop in price?

terrible guidance pretty much for rest of year.

When you walk around, notice how much less you see people wearing Nikes now. I’m not saying it’s a bad buy because I do think they will be around long term, just observing how few wear Nikes now.

Compared with 25 years ago, yes but not that much of a change in the last few years or so.

Apparently an accurate observation on your part.

The company continued to lose market share throughout the quarter, ceding it to competitors such as On Holding, New Balance, and Hoka, wrote M Science analyst Drake MacFarlane ahead of earnings. Nike’s share of digital purchases averaged 32.5%, down from 34.1% in the year-ago quarter.
Nike’s footwear revenue in North America—the company’s largest markets—fell 6% year over year in the fourth quarter. Hoka sales, in contrast, jumped 34% from the prior year.

Nike is the only brand that the kids 5-10 want to wear in our area. That used to be Under Armor a decade ago but now that brand seems dead. My 5 yr old wants Nike everything because that is all the kids at camp and the neighborhood wear

My son is a teen and he still wants Nike when he needs new shoes. Still popular with the younger generation.

I’d be interested to see what market share is for jerseys and equipment for teams. Seems every NCAA, NFL, NBA and MLB team wears Nike or Jordan brand equipment.

Daughter's 7th grade class has Nike Air Max270's in every different color. The year before, it was OnCloud's. I haven't worn Nike in over 20 years, and I don't think their shoes are made very well, but their popularity definitely still holds in some markets.

Good call. Down almost 20 percent today. Seems to be a mixed review on buying the stock. Personally on the fence but may buy some and roll the dice.

Looks like global numbers are down driving this most recent dip, which has been their main focus the past decade plus. They really sold out the domestic market to go after mainly Asia. When they started doing that is when you started seeing all of the hideous colorways with lime green, bright colors, etc.
Massive supply chain cost increases the last 60 days and looming additional Trump tariffs (if he wins) have to be major concerns for Nike right now as well. In addition to the comment mentioned about sub-brands that have really taken over market share. It's almost like a death by a thousand paper cuts type decline. Look at brands like ON, Hoka, Vuori, Lululemon, Peter Millar, Johnnie O, Gymshark, Tasc, etc. that have all come in and taken market share little by little. This will only continue. I'm surprised they haven't started to become more of a holding company and taken positions or outright bought these brands and let them run independently to maintain the brand appeal. Similar to what Coca Cola does. Imagine this has to be some part of the future.
As a customer, I have as few of Nike shoes as I've ever had in my closest. Not a big fan of the classic releases all of the time. They still crush when it comes to licensed product though. Adidas and UA can't hold a candle to Nike design and aesthetics.
I've been a Nike loyalist forever and will be back in soon. I rolled the 401k from my first job into and IRA and bought Nike at $74 I believe back in 2017. Fortunately sold on the last run up $120+ last year and have started buying small amounts again once under $100.

Rolling the dice on Nike in the low 70's here versus some of the stinkers thrown out on this board seems like any easy choice.

Thinking I’ll set a 78 dollar mark. I’ll buy under 78 and hold 78 and above

Agreed here global market really been hurting them, especially China.
Apparel has to be cut throat business these days with tons of brands coming up over night and grabbing market share. Seems like the popular shoe brand changes with the wind.
Also I wonder if all their long term licensing deals with various sports teams will come back to bite them. They must have paid billions to the exclusive apparel provider for all these different sports

i'm in at 77 and will probably buy more if it drops below 75 but as you stated anything over 78 i will just hold. Dont see this down in this area more than a few months.

They really miss Mark Parker’s everyday leadership and of course the absence of Phil Knight and the OG regime. Will be interesting to see if how this iconic brand plays out in its second/third generation.

I’ve been suspicious ever since they ended their relationship with Tiger. They were starting to tighten the belt for a reason.
