Why do many Lsu fans hate Texas A&M so much?

Is it the part of Louisiana you live in? Where is the line drawn?
East of Baton rouge including Nola to Mobile more Lsu fans hate Bama.
I just don't get the hate they're not our rival.

They were our biggest out of conference rival in football when I was growing up.
The first game of the season was usually against A&M. I think all of the Jimbo crap contributed to it for the younger crowd.

there is a lot of interaction between the 2 fan bases in the oilfield.
and as another mentioned, we used to play them every year back in 80s and 90s.
first game I ever attended was the '86 game against them.

There are quite a few in the NOLA area too. Pretty sure A&M is a big time program for the river boat pilot group.

Dad took me to a few LSU/aTm games in the 90’s. I decided I disliked them since.
But I hated everyone LSU played in the early/mid 90’s though. I was too young to realize we just really sucked.
A&M has just been an easy fanbase/school to continue to hate for me.
