What have you guys heard about him? Is he going to remain at QB? I saw his highlight film, and outside of Eric Berry and maybe 2-3 others, he's the best athlete I've seen in the last 6-7 years.

He'll get a shot at QB. But if it doesn't work out there, he's already said he's not opposed to switching positions to help the team.

Imo, he'll be used the way Perrilloux was used, then eventually take over as fulltime QB.

Just my opinion though.

he will be a QB. his senior highlight reel shows he is perfectly capable to be a signal caller at this level.

He'll get PT as a TF (not as a starter). My guess is he'll be in at QB for designed run type plays, like how we used Perrilloux in 07 when Flynn wasn't injured or like JJ this year before Lee got injured. He'll probably get some play in the wide out spot and I wouldn't be surprized to see him lined up in the backfield every now and then like Harvin in 07. His soph and jr years will be real fun.

im calling my shot now-- RS is the starting QB by SEC play next year. getting reps in the spring and hes an immeadiate upgrade over hatch and lee. JJ will be tougher to pass on the depth chart, but i think RS's leadership and big play potential will earn him the job GEAUX shep!

he will be moved to get playing time faster. Throwing motion similar to JJ with a sidearm effect which tends to be less accurate. Has great speed and vision. He could cause trouble in SEC, but won't be able to get us to next level because of passing skills unless we move more toward a veer/option type offense. that would cause major problems for opponents due to the fact that they are built for speed and not power

shep's arm isnt great--and i dont think its sidearm-- but he has a quick release and is more than adequate for the college level. VY and vick proved that you dont need an NFL caliber arm to make it huge in the college.

and lets not forget he will be facing ZONE against all teams, b/c no team wants their DBs turning and running with WRs, allowing shep to bust long TDs

he will be a QB. unless like he sucks, which won't happen because he is very good, he will remain at QB. he will be used like RP and after a while, will take control of the starting position. i love this guy.

Vick had a top 5 arm in the NFL.

As far as Shep, he steps in immediately in the RP role. Not sure he can overtake Lee or JJ as far as starting.

arm strength? absolutely. accuracy? frick no.

i disagree. lee has all the physical tools, but lacks the intagibles, specifically the mental horsepower to be an SEC QB

i think itll be very difficult, but shep coming in for spring ball will help his odds.

in shep i trust

Your previous comment made it sound as if you were questioning Vick's arm strength. That's ALL I was defending with his punk arse.

I've seen Shepard's interviews. He's a leader. A quarterback all the way. We are very, very fortunate that he chose LSU.

Has he actually signed his paperwork to enroll yet?
