Hey Stewie I bet your weren't the porn star you think you are now your first few times of getting laid, give the kid a break. Coach Johnson would not have signed him if he didn't think he had talent and upside potential. You probably also evaluate the stock market on a daily basis instead of long term, Quit being a retard and let the game slow down for him and then evaluate.

re: LSU # 1 in Baseball America recruiting rankings

Lots of reasons 1) LSU experience can't put a value on winning national championships and playing in the SEC
2) Coach Mineiri-tremendous mentor
3) If you go pro after a few years of college-pros still pay for you to finish getting your degree
4) TOPS help offset partial schollies
5) Higher your drafted, more money, so more money more chances you get to get a shot at the big dance
6) Fans--can't duplicate the experience of Alex Box--when all the money is gone the memories remain

Congrats to Odell and his family. He is a super kid that will be an asset to the Tigers. Next up for the Greenies is Xavier Carter 6'6" 285lbs defensive tackle, sophomore. You heard from me first
He is as good or better than Ronnie Vinson, I have seen them both play numerous times, he has a blood line out of this world, Mom was as 12 time All American at LSU, Dad Odell Beckham, Sr, and step dad Derek Mills, Olympic Gold Medalist. The Lsu coaches really like him and i will be surprised if he doesn't get offered. He gets in anyway because parents are alums.
Congrats Wes, Good Luck on rehab and get to campus. I hear the girls are prettier in BR than Pittsburg.

Like most smaller guys Luquette has probably learned to adjust to his height, so that should not be an issue, Brees, Vick, Garcia, etc. Not saying he is that caliber, but has potential. Miles loves him and wants him, just having to answer to a qb under 6'2"
re: Russell Shepard?
Posted by cover3man on 12/25/08 at 9:48 pm to LSUTIGER in TEXAS
he will be moved to get playing time faster. Throwing motion similar to JJ with a sidearm effect which tends to be less accurate. Has great speed and vision. He could cause trouble in SEC, but won't be able to get us to next level because of passing skills unless we move more toward a veer/option type offense. that would cause major problems for opponents due to the fact that they are built for speed and not power
re: Wes Luquette
Posted by cover3man on 12/25/08 at 5:19 pm to Checkmateking2
rules have changed, Wes will probably throw all summer and go out in the fall. He will compete for the starting position and has the smarts and talent to win the position. He will not be considered scholarship against any numbers until he wins the starting job. he has been getting recruited and has sat with Coach Miles twice to discuss his options. Miles and Wes have valid concerns. Coach Maneiri encourges him to go out for football and thinks he can make a difference.
Mason Katz commits to Maineiri

great hitter and utility fielder from Jesuit.

He was only invited to a regional elite 11.

re: Is Chris Garrett Wavering?
Posted by cover3man on 8/12/08 at 12:59 pm to Miles Fan Now
you have no ammo, time to surrender.
dude, stick to your Batman movies, because you are a mental midget when it comes to football. The predictions are that JJ will be in sooner than you think.
Sorry buddy, you have the wrong info. Enough of this thread
Telling everyone he wasn't going to go to Elite 11, when he knew he probably wasn't going to get picked, Telling everyone he wanted to show people he could pass when he came to a BR combine. I was always taught to let your actions speak. Just my opinion. He does a good job of helping recruit other prospects that LSU is after, but he doesn't need to advertise it.
Sorry if you got your feelings hurt, i call it like i see it. I didn't say anything condesending about shep, he's a great athlete and just needs to be little humble. I think he could do the same things without advertising it to everyone. Why do you think freshman aren't alowed to talk to the media? Here is a prime example, he doesn't have enough experience speaking and it may get misconstrued.
EGG, really you give good info and i respect your opinions. Keep up the good work. Mr Cleans i love your coverage and updates.
That's cool, i can play with the big boys..Hey EGGzagerator, ever put on a jockstrap or you're just a sniffer?
This is what your intelligence results to "name calling", give your opinion and stop waisting board space. I have a right to mine, just as you do. We are all adults here, we can have conversations without name calling don't you think.
We'll see.

lynxcat don't get your panties in a wad, it onlymakes sense to take another based on this information
I would put Von Rosenberg and the kid from STM ahead of him. These guys can consistently hit 90's and above and the locations that go along with it. VR has a few more pitches than STM kid but wait till you see what they bring to the table. LSU baseball is just beginning.
re: Shep wavering?
Posted by cover3man on 8/12/08 at 10:41 am to SlowFlowPro
Shep can't pull out, he's in to deep with all of the recruiting he's been doing and his ego is way too big. He's finding out that he is not as respected as he thinks he is. He was not Texas' first choice. As i said before He is the best athlete available, not the best QB, you have to take this guy and give him a shot wherever he wants. He will get impatient at QB and want to get on the field faster, the coaches know this and this is why they want him.
Sorry, you are right, Jesuit. There is also a kid named Mason Katz who is a really good hitter.
