Ran into three members of the drumline at George's. They said that we are only bringing a pep band to Vegas. Full band is traveling to A&M.

Disappointing...

I'm not surprised, considering what Damon Talley's priorities are. He hates the Tiger Band (he was heard saying that).

Yeah that's how it usually works. Full band only goes to one game a year. Could be worse. Could be Arkansas

Except, when the kick-off classic games started, they went on two full band trips!

Guess the motel 6 in Bryan gave better rates than Mandalay Bay

Except, this is false. The games in Dallas/Houston, etc were the 1 full-band trip for the year

4.5 hour bus ride OF COURSE SoCal will have their full band. Its a short and cheap trip and won't even need hotel rooms.

Is LSU the first team ever in a Kickoff Game not to bring a full band? What happens if we play in 5 post season games for example like the seccg, at the # 7 or 8 team, the rose or orange bowl, then the cotton or sugar, then Atlanta for the title - how many of these does a pep or full band go to?

I think people don't consider how much it costs to fly an entire band to Vegas, along with paying for meals and hotel rooms. Considering schools will soon be paying millions of dollars to athletes every year, there will be lots of decisions like this one.

I can't say I'm upset about it because I understand it's a logistical and financial nightmare for the program. You're basically asking them to almost triple the cost of sending just the football team.

Wouldn't part of the deal involving a neutral site game involve bringing the both bands in its entirety? I would assume that the host would want the full bands, and would pay for it. LSU needs to negotiate the deal better.

The tickets are outrageous which should include the full bands for the fans' entertainment. You mean to tell me that there is no money to highlight the pageantry and traditions of CFB?

It's sad and hypocritical, because exposure is what LSU wants. What sort of impression are you expecting to make when you can't even do the pregame march on the field? What is even more sad is the host city being OK with a school deciding to have the half assed band perform.

Something tells me this is a troll.

Oregon did not even bring a pep band to Dallas in 2011. That said, it's a shame that the full band won't be in Vegas.

I imagine that the full band will continue to go to the SECCG, but after that, who knows? Most likely it would be a pep band at every playoff game until the NC game. Meanwhile, Bama, UGA, Ohio State, etc. will bring their full bands to every game.

We didn’t bring the full band up to Lambeau in 2016

But I am sure LSU's DJ will absolutely be there to stir up the fans ... just like in Tiger Stadium!

WRONG

Bringing the 55 member pep band to big games like this is such BS. You couldn't even hear the band when we were in Lambeau

that wasn't actually an official "kickoff classic" but was called the Lambeau college classic. I thought host cities and sponsors of kickoff classics help bring the bands.

Definitely not. Florida State in New Orleans may have been the exception just due to proximity.
