I have a question about trip to Madrid, Grenada, Seville, Toledo, and Barcelona.

I am using a booker for this, but does that mean they plan every activity, like a tour, or do they arrange the travel and tickets for the trains, hotel reservations, and any items we need?
If they book the flights, are they using a business or coach class flight across the Atlantic?

First question. Is why?
The chance that they are booking a business class seat without a huge upcharge is zero.

Because the board told me to do so and someone who went on this trip in December said it saved them headaches and gave me the contact info

Why don’t you just ask the booker?

So you know you’re using a booker/travel agent, and you don’t already know the answers to these questions?
And you came to this board to ask the questions and not to the booker?
To be productive in this post - I wouldn’t recommend a travel agent for those places. As long as you have your reservations made in advance there is hardly ever going to be “headache”. If something goes “wrong” you are the one who is actually on site and can more readily fix the “problems” rather than calling or emailing an agent.
It’s nice to spend a little time picking and planning things for trips like this. It just about guarantees that every activity or restaurant is something that you know you will enjoy

Ask them. I am sure they will book whatever you tell them you want to pay for.

Exactly. It’s not a way I’d consider doing it but to each his own.
I’d like to know who on the board gave him the advice to use someone else to book his trip. He will have zero leverage with hotels and airlines if he books through a third party.

Yeah. It is easy enough to book yourself. You can get exactly what you want without having to pay a middleman. And I find it enjoyable to research and book trips online.

Umm, no. I'm not the OP.

About the only thing this board will never suggest is using a travel agent or booker. You sure you got the right board? We tend to take an almost perverse pleasure in planning trips without professional help (other than the suggestions of the people on this board).

This is strange. First of all, it’s 2024 you don’t need a booker unless you are the laziest person on earth.
2nd, ask the Booker what exactly they are booking?
That’s a pretty easy trip. I’ve done a similar one.

I use an agency for all international travel. Fly business or first class and they always plan every detail of the trip. Last trip they even upgraded us in the last hotel and we had a 1200 square foot “room” with a full service butler. It was awesome.
The trip they arranged in Spain a few years ago was great. All super nice hotels in each city and English speaking private tour guides everyday.

Just came back from Barcelona, Madrid, and Porto, Portugal. We reserved everything ourselves and did great. I know a broker can help you do all this, but you better stay on top of all the details.

My dream trip is for graduation from Grad School, so I want to fly into Barcelona, go to Seville, Toledo, and the Alahambra if Gibraltar is possible, and leave from Barcelona. The booker just told me that I have to book my own flight. Luckily, I have not paid any deposit to them, so I am now worried as I am clueless about how to book anything other than flights online
Yes, I am stupid about these things, as working in athletics, the secretaries always booked our stuff for conventions, and the contacts stated where we stayed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. A Razorback fan connected me to the booker and said they did all this for them, so I went the booker route. I will try to link the thread. Link to thread earlier

I used a travel agent a few years ago for a Mediterranean cruise and a trip through Paris on the way home. She walked me through everything, I booked the cruise excursions I wanted, she took care of the hotels, hop on/off bus tickets in Paris and Barcelona (the pre-cruise city) and transportation to and from the airport. She gave me options to pick from, like what kind of transportation I would prefer, hotels to choose from, and the bus tour options.

You booked a booker and you don't know what the booker you booked is going to book so you asked Tigerdroppings? Instead of the booker?

No, sir. I am not getting all the info, etc., like travel to and from Spain. So if that is not included, why use the booker if I can use better resources and discuss with people who do not have an agenda of selling something?

Ok, what's the duration of the trip? What cities are musts for you? Budget?
