What a shame with what they have allowed this to become, had a 7:45 tee time this morning and I knew it was in rougher shape but we lost several balls just off fairway in uncut grass.

The signage was homemade in some spots - man just crazy.

Is it pretty much a given this is where the area is going and they have packed it in?

I mean, at this point, that's a "play at your own risk" course.

Everyone knows it's a goat ranch.

What? It’s been this way for years, they didn’t just start packing it in

And lol at getting a tee time to go play there

Haha I mean it was cheaper by doing that on Golf Now deals.

So if it’s been that way for years - what happened?

They haven't had a superintendent for years. The lady over it has no idea how to run a golf course. Can't expect student workers to actually work; it may hurt their feelings.
That's just a start:)

The ten year plan was to let it go to crap to show the land use was in the red so they could build a new arena

And Mike Johnson isn't even at Santa Maria anymore. Saw him working the counter at Webb a couple weeks ago.

Yeah it appears that way - wish they would buy out Tigerland and build the arena and a new development and put some money into the course.

I had fun, despite my gripes and am sure I’ll play some more till it’s toast.

It was quite nice 20 years ago. A truly great value back then.

When I was at LSU, emptying a keg was my top priority.

The range is still dirt cheap though, and works as well as any other one

It was like $12 w/cart with a student ID. I played a ton.

I played the best golf of my life by paying $5 for the pitch and putt course they used to have and backing the truck up with an ice chest full of beer and working on my short game at night under the lights.

This was awesome.

That little pitch and putt course was great.

LSU golf course used to be a pretty cool place to play.

This. A little piece of me died when they made it a parking lot.
