Our Ford broke down, help me troubleshoot this.

This is a mess. Wife’s 2020 Ford Ecosport broke down between Memphis and Nashville on 40 last week. Five hours from home. We get the vehicle towed to a dealership in Jackson, TN
Come to find out her Ecosport ( junk car btw) is under recall for a known issue with the oil pump/belt.
The motor is trash and will need to be replaced. As part of the recall, Ford is to provide long term rentals to customers. The dealership way down in TN said they faxed a rental request to the Enterprise rental near us. Enterprise said nope, had to be submitted under their business car system or something like that so they know they’ll be reimbursed by ford
We’ve called three different ppl at the dealership, the rep at Enterprise. Presumably they’re not even talking amongst each other to try to solve the problem.
Ford customer service is of no help, they just defer to the dealership.
At this point, what course of action do we have? Absolutely nobody wants to go above and beyond to help us out.
Not a troll post, just hoping someone out there can give some advice

Have you tried setting the dealership on fire?
I know every time I deal with a dealership, that’s exactly what I feel like doing.

I would go ahead and rent the vehicle then work to resolve the reimbursement issue afterwards. Try to find out the maximum daily amount they will reimburse, then rent a car in that category.
Good luck!

What do you want us to do about it? PIIYWB?

Wait until they tell you they sent multiple recall notices that were ignored and you’re on the hook for the new motor…then burn the dealership down.

I got stuck with one of these for a few weeks while my car was getting body work.
There is nothing “eco” or “sport” about it. What an underpowered mess.

If it were me, I'd seriously consider going with a trailer and bringing it back to the dealer I bought it from closer to home.
A letter from an attorney would work as well detailing how.much per day you're invoicing them for the costs of a rental.

That's what someone did in Rosepine.

quote:. They probably have to submit it through ARMS. It’s the system all the insurance companies and large business accounts use to send electronic info to Enterprise.

If they can’t send it through ARMS then you/they may have to contact Enterprise corporate and not the local pickup location. A lot of the local counter workers at the locations are not very smart.

I work at a dealership. I worked at a ford dealership for 25 years. You will have to be the squeaky wheel. Have you talked to the service manager yet? If not, do that. If so, move up to the general manager. If you get nothing there, ask for the number of the dealer principle. You are going to have to become their biggest pain in the arse. Call everyone every 3 hours. Be polite, but be persistent. Ford customer service absolutely can make shite happen, you just aren’t noisy enough yet. All this said, don’t get mad and be an arse, they will absolutely start ignoring you. Again, be polite and persistent.

You know what they say Ford stands for, don’t ya?
It stands for “Fix It Again, Tony”

What year is this?
Everything with enterprise is done digitally.

I got one as a rental once because it was 12 bucks a day.

They know the value of all of this. Ask the warranty people for a generous offer towards a new one.

2020
Shouldn’t it be under warranty?

Yep, that’s exactly what Enterprise said. I’ve been buried in work and feeling like crap from a bad cold. Wife unable to make any leeway today with any of them.
I’ll call enterprise costumer service and see if they’re able to coordinate with Ford
