Who are you flying with? Also how much? I’m not an OT baller and haven’t flew in years. These prices are really high

Yeah they’re outrageous.
I’ve been to Vegas probably 15+ times in my life and have never spent over $500 on round trip flight (and I typically fly BTR to LAS)
For this game, mine was $1050… MSY to Vegas (Friday to Monday) American
That said, you can get in the $600-$800 range for this game if you’re not picky about times and not picky about airlines

The prices are bad. It’s probably bc of Labor Day weekend.
I would say that you can normally get a comparable ticket for half the price.
Unsure where you live, but flying from New Orleans instead of Baton Rouge will save you $200 or maybe more.

I live in Lafayette, I'm driving to Houston and getting a direct flight for under $500 round trip.
I'm no OT baller either.

Yeah I think it’s mainly the flights from MSY and BTR… obviously due to demand
But even $500 from Houston seems kinda high

I booked with American a few months ago for $650 roundtrip out of Nola.

Round trip for 3 with Delta. Saturday through Tuesday for $1,400. Nola/Vegas... Extremely limited options in the least expensive end. Used points for $900 of the purchase, so $500 out of pocket.
It's everything else that will get u$ in a hurry... lodging, car, Blue Man Group, Meow Wolf Omega Mart, The Sphere.... Family trip with kid, so a different sort of Vegas experience than our last one...
Going to be one helluva fast paced action packed trip for less than 72 hours there!
Geaux Tigers! Been waiting since 03 for this matchup!
ETA: Booked today 6/7... Wanted to make sure we had our allotment of tickets first.

As soon as Southwest released the flights for that weekend I was on their website booking at 6:30am that morning. It was in December. I got the non stop from New Orleans to Vegas leaving Thursday afternoon and coming back Monday morning. I used points for 1 ticket and I have a companion pass so the second ticket was free. But yeah you would have needed to get your flights back in December for the best deals.

Hope you have a better experience than my dad and step-mom did with AA out of NO with connection in Dallas with ABQ final destination to come see us in Santa Fe. Got to MSY early, boarded the flight, sat on the tarmac during a weather delay over an hour, got to Dallas, another weather delay ~ 90 minutes then finally made it to ABQ. I dropped them off after 12 days of them being in Santa Fe, got their 90 minutes early and were told immediately the flight had been cancelled and no flights to MSY for 3 days. They were able to re-book on United for an early next day AM flight and said they were done with AA. Have to believe Shreveport is worse than MSY. I wouldn't potentially lose a day or more flying AA.

Only 28,000 points on Southwest round trip. Not bad at all.

Paid $11.20 for wife's ticket (free companion fare on Southwest) roundtrip direct from Dallas Love Field to Las Vegas and 22,855 points for one way on Southwest for my outbound flight and $255.90 for return flight. I booked in December, 2023 when Southwest flights first opened. Same flights (or comparable) flying out Friday and coming home Monday are $462/RT on Southwest out of Dallas and $476/RT out of Austin.

Mine was not that bad. I think it was like $380 per person.
Thursday to Tuesday
From MSY on Delat with layovers in Houston.
Since we are staying extra days, we have not been identified as people who have to get to the football game and are thus not being price gouged.

I’m traveling from Nola solo and meeting friends there. I got both flights for $440 total. Really shite return flight though. Leaving Monday at 11 pm lol
