Some wildlife/nature photos from May.
Website
Bonus photo: a squirrel eating fried chicken. I've seen lots of things while out doing wildlife photography, but this was a first.

I've seen many a chicken rancher on here, pro and home, attest to the fact that EVERYTHING loves to eat chickens.

100% accurate. You basically have to put them in fortress at night or they will get eaten.

quote:Squirrels eat bones. I was in my backyard a couple years ago underneath my huge live oak tree and a half eaten chicken bone fell right next to me out of the tree. I looked up and a squirrel was up in the tree directly above looking down at me. I was like WTF?

Looked it up online and found numerous instances of it. Apparently they chew on bones for the calcium.
And many “herbivores” will eat meat if given the opportunity. I’ve seen a video of a horse eating a live baby chicken, and a deer eating a snake.

always enjoy your photos, especially the eagle. I'm not a photographer but hoping to day trip down to yellowstone this weekend and get lucky to put eyes on the momma griz that came out yesterday with FIVE cubs in tow.

Which part of Yellowstone?
I love that area, and can't wait to get back up there. If you have a chance you should make the trip to Grand Teton National Park, the grizzlies have been out and about there from what I've been hearing.
I'll be up there in September, I'm gonna spend a few days in West Yellowstone, then head down to the Tetons for about a week to try and photograph the grizzlies, elk rut, and fall landscapes.

This mom and cubs were seen in the Little America region in the northern range. yeah it seems cubs and red dogs have been spotted everywhere. Haven't made it to Tetons yet. Teton pass was closed due to a mud slid. Really wanting to drive the beartooth highway but just as it finally opened we had another snow storm that closed it again. Going to the sun road in glacier still isn't close to being fully open so we are waiting to visit. they had the largest snow pack since 2011

I'm sure you've answered this 1000 times, but what camera and lens do you use. Those images are spectacular!

These were taken with my Nikon Z8 and 180-600mm lens, 70-200mm lens, or the 24-70mm lens.

Those are great pictures. Especially the Green Heron and the hen with the ducklings.
