Did he do enough last night to be welcomed back as a respected Tiger?? His knock and the heads-up base running lit the fuse for the team. That smash later came at a big time as well. Leadership came from him when it was needed most.

I was just happy to see him get some hits. We need him hitting.

I’m not sold on him yet. Get at least 2 hits tonight, then I will be.

Might slow the role on the heads up base running.

True heads up base running he cruises into second without a slightest hesitation around first.

But I ain’t bitching, I’ll take it!

No. If you could go back three weeks, knowing exactly what his output would be through today, you would replace him in the lineup. So, no, it's not enough.

The trick, though, is what will he do in the next game. And you don't know that. Only a fool would replace him now. He got hot. Was it a flash in the pan, or was it the start of a streak?

For the record: I never bashed him, and I trusted the coaches. The first time I ever said he should probably be replaced in the lineup was yesterday, and his next two ABs were big hits.

I’m glad he stepped it up but He needed to sit. He wasn’t see the ball. He was swinging at a lot of bad pitches.

He likely got the message after Johnson benched him in the 4th inning against Wofford for Neal.

For a veteran, his base running is poor. He should have been hosteling thru the turn and wasn’t. A few games ago he lallygaged to second and got thrown out

The Travinski hate is just dumb on this board. He could go 3 for 4 tonight with a strikeout and the board will be filled with idiots hating on him b/c he had the nerve to K. In the last 10 games, we've faced all SEC or tourney-level pitching and Trav is doing just fine.

.297 BA (11 for 37)
.381 OBP
4 doubles
2 home runs

Even after going off yesterday, Pearson is only batting .263 (10 for 38)with a .391 OBP in the same 10 games. Larson is hitting .179 (5 for 26).

Im one, I tore his azz yesterday, and he deserved it. Im glad for the Tigers and I'm glad he got out of his funk. Hopefully it continues. If it took for him to get benched, to play better, then I'm glad it all happened. I think the lineup changes also helped. I have nothing against him, we need his best baseball now.
Go Tigers!

A few games ago? That was in April. He went 2 for 4 that day with a double. He had 25% of the team's base hits that day and everyone was shitting on him then.

Heads up base running?? You mean when he wasn’t even looking at the ball so he made it much closer than it should have been.

I love Travinski but I’m just saying, I wouldn’t be using the base running as an example of why he should play.

Trav was slumping then the last 4 games of the SEC tourney, he was batting .375, then he slumped again. Benching him was the right call by Jay and getting him out there was obviously the right thing to do as well. He's a leader and the team feeds off of him so I hope he keeps it up. That double seemed to ignite the team last night when it looked like UNC was about to slip back into the game. Then the HR was our final run.

Well, that's just wrong and stupid. Let's look at his last 3 weeks.

12 games all against SEC & tourney pitching
.273 BA (12 for 44)
.360 OBP
4 doubles
2 Home runs

Pearson is virtually identical in that same 12 games
.273 BA (12 for 44)
.385 OBP
4 doubles
2 Home runs

How many threads have been calling on Pearson to be benched? The volume of people shitting on Trav vs. Pearson is significantly different. To be clear, I'm not shitting on Pearson at all. I'm pointing out that people ignorantly praise one player and shite on another when their stat line is pretty damn close to one another.

How many threads have been started calling for Larson to be benched for those 12 games? He's batting .176 with 3 double and no HRs

You can hit for the cycle and should still be shite on for that kind of baserunning.

I was glad to see him finally get a hit and I hope he keeps it up but tbh I was hoping Jay would DH Ethan Frey in the second game yesterday.

I'm one that asked if anyone else could DH before last night's game.

CJJ has to be added to the list since he benched Travinski.
