Had he taken the same swing same pitch but the ball went 18” further in the hole, you wouldn’t start this thread.

Baseball 101. When you get the starter out and a new reliever comes in, scored tied, with runners on base, you make him throw strikes in that pressure situation. You don’t swing on the first pitch.

Tommy is not most players.
I’m not saying I love him swinging at a first pitch breaking ball, but he has earned the right to swing at whatever pitch he wants.
By your rule, he doesn’t swing on the ball he sent 430’ against wake forest in extra innings last season. Which, incidentally put us in the CWS finals.
