Harvard University will no longer weigh in on outside public matters

Harvard University announced Tuesday that it will stay silent on public matters that do not directly concern its “core function” — months after the Ivy League school’s statements on the Israel-Hamas war caused a firestorm of controversy.
Leaders at the prestigious school who recommended the new policy said that Harvard “runs the risk of appearing to care more about some places and events than others” by issuing public statements on sweeping issues and global politics.
“And because few, if any, world events can be entirely isolated from conflicting viewpoints, issuing official empathy statements runs the risk of alienating some members of the community by expressing implicit solidarity with others,” Harvard’s Institutional Voice Working Group recommended in a report.

As part of the new initiative, Harvard will no longer issue official statements concerning wars, like it had following the Russian invasion of Ukraine last February and for Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack on Israel.

Translation: Saying silly shite has impacted our endowment.

They needed a working group to figure out that was a good idea?

I bet Harvard has a lot of rich Jewish alumni.

Go woke go broke

Harvard is the second wealthiest non profit entity in the world, second to only the Catholic Church. The economies of something like 150 countries is less than that of Harvards endowment. I don’t think there’s a concern of “going broke”

It’s wild how powerful this group is.
My whole college experience (at Alabama - not a university considered far left by general society) the baseline class rhetoric was extremely anti-white and anti-American with no consequences for the University or professors.
Within a year of anti-Israel and anti-Semitic rhetoric, Jewish Americans have changed premier university’s administrations and policies.

It took this long for the Harvard elite to figure this out
What a bunch of morons

Sounds like Harvard is starting to feel the heat.
It's amazing that allowing antisemites to blatantly talk about how much they hate Jews while you put your banner of protection over them can actually start to affect your university monetarily.. Who knew?

They are certainly draining the fuel out of the activism machine with this approach.
This might be the single most un-Marxist thing that Harvard has done since the 1950’s.

I am glad the “geniuses” of Harvard realized this. The goal of universities should be to teach students how to make a good living…not to legislate politics or morality to them.

On one hand I’m glad I don’t have to hear their shite. On the other hand I wish we could live in a world where colleges can have civil discourse.

When we speak, people realize we have horrible opinions. We’ll just keep brainwashing young people in silence.
