My neighbor is a nurse, and she just pops them with ibuprofen and tells them to tough it out. It’s most likely viral.

I would go and just take it easy.
The two younger kids had a stomach virus on the third day of a trip - we were driving from BR to NYC.
We got some bags from a store when we stopped for snacks and kept going. By day 5 they were fine and that was the best Cracker Barrel meal I’ve ever had.

How old are your kids?
We learned pretty quickly to plan a buffer week before summer vacations. During that week they are basically isolated at home.
Vacationing during the school year is always an absolute crap shoot. You take your chances.
By the way kids get sick significantly more often than we did when we were kids and nobody is going to convince me otherwise.
