the only way to stop the spending is to cut off all sources of getting national loans

Be careful with this. "for the first seven months" is significant. Government spending and borrowing isn't even across months. That said... they are both too high.

The US spent $820B on Defense last year. The interest on the debt for last year was $1.025T.

Moral of the story: It started exceeding Defense spending last year.

Footnote: Interest on the debt is never going down (unless they cut spending enough to pay down the debt). The CBO estimates it will be the single highest federal expenditure by 2030.
