He's innocent until proven guilty but this is a terrible look after they let him back on the team.

Are they really in big trouble or is that your assumption? Memphis outright played James Wiseman when they were told not to and nothing happened outside of some bullshite probation.

If they didn't have him it might've been a 31-0 run

As I recall, the judge granted his injunction preventing the team from barring him.

A judge can’t force a team to keep a player. You can cut players at will

Also why is this going to trial?

On May 2, the DNA results were released through a hearing by Shannon's defense. Most of the DNA samples were unusable and one sample contained a mixture of at least three males while ruling Shannon out.

So this girl didn't want to be fingered but has no problem fricking half the campus?

You clearly have no idea about this story AND clearly don’t understand how the legal system works.
That’s exactly what happened. The judge ruled that the university kicking him off the team without due process was depriving him of his opportunity to capitalize off his NIL.

The suspension, she ruled, deprived Shannon of “protected property interests” without due process. In the case of Shannon, whom the court noted is supporting several family members, his property interests include retaining his chances to be an NBA lottery pick — among the first 14 players taken in the draft — and to cash in on potential endorsements allowed under the NCAA’s name, image and likeness (NIL) policy.
“Plaintiff’s participation in sports is vital to the development of his career as well as his current and future economic opportunities considering plaintiff’s intention to declare for the 2024 NBA Draft,” Lawless wrote in the order issued Friday. “Prior to his suspension, plaintiff was projected to be a lottery pick in the NBA. His participation in future games impact his prospects in the draft and his earning potential.”
Lawless said that the “public interest is not harmed” by putting in place “procedural safeguards while he is presumed innocent of the criminal charges.”

The coach 100% could have cut him from the team. Zero doubt. In no way shape or form will that ever change outside of cutting a player for a protected class reason (race, religion, etc)

Acquitted in less than two hours, I don’t know how they even prosecuted him. The whole thing didn’t make any sense.

Given the track record of the current Lawrence DA, we should assume that any rape charge that’s brought by her office is bogus.
