Are teams required to announce their starting pitcher(s) for the weekend?

You could let the opponent think that John Doe is taking the mound, and then trot Joe Blow out there.

You see?

Yes the coach would be executed at home plate if they withheld the starting pitcher until game time

I think sec requires it by a certain time before series starts
Even if it means announcing TBA
It's more of a common courtesy type of thing and you can usually tell what a team is going to do based on what they did previous weekend
now you can't rule out injury to a player

When was the last time we had a coach drawn and quartered at home plate?

Was that 1985?

I don't know if there is a hard and fast rule, but I do know that generally the managers give the lineups to the media (TV/Radio) at least 90 minutes before the first pitch as a courtesy so the announcers can prepare and the crew can prepare graphics, info, etc.

Hell, you saw last year Alabama didn't announce Holman was a scratch for Game 1 until pretty late on Friday. Of course, the coach had an ulterior motive for doing so

I think you're allowed one TBA, but otherwise yes.

I think you have to list Atleast one? I remember last year there was a series where both teams listed a Friday and did Saturday -TBA and Sunday-TBA
