John Mulaney presents: Everybody’s in LA

Has anyone watched this this week?
John hosts a live show in LA with multiple guests, at once, each night and they discuss different topics about LA.
It’s a bit all over the place but I can’t stop watching it. The different guests don’t seem to mesh and it cracks me up.

I liked the first episode. It had some really awesome moments and some so so ones.

Tonight’s episode had Bill Hader, David Letterman, a seismologist, Pete Davidson, and Luenell. Bill, Pete, and Luenell were on something and cracking me up.

I love it. Getting Kevin Gage to come and do stand up in character as Waingro from Heat is the kind of insanity that just cracks me up.
Also really love Richard Kind.
I wish that some of the guests were more conscientious of each other, but the contrasting styles and opinions does make for something I can't stop watching.

This is what it’s about. I turned off episode 2 half way thru. But I’ve caught myself tuning in every episode this week.

They need to do a livestream of LA comics and NY comics locked in a room with a bunch of weapons and the only thing they can discuss is which is a better place to live. Last man standing wins.
I expect tensions would ramp up immediately, since folks carrying on about either location is agonizing.

Haven't seen this show, but wanted to take this time to say just how fantastic his performance was in Season 2's insanely anxiety filled episode of The Bear, "Fishes." Him, Oliver Platt, Jon Bernthal, Bob Odenkirk, and Jamie Lee Curtis just coming off the bench and throwing straight fricking gasoline.

Never found him that funny but maybe it’s because I hate him for taking Olivia Munn off the market.

Is it like Kill Tony with a panel of people just talking and making jokes, trying to one up each other while some side show is happening?

Not at all. Show usually has an over-arching topic (such as helicopters, coyotes, and earthquakes) with Mulaney, a celebrity, and some expert on the topic. Then more people are added along with calls being taken from the audience. Things vaguely reflect the topic but mostly it's kind of incomprehensible and in some cases awkward disagreeable.
There are also interstitial pre-filmed sketches that vary wildly in quality.
It's bizarre but definitely entertaining.
