The post title is misleading, like many on this site. This was awarded in 1984, not recently. The link is to a story on the History Channell website.
Still an absolutely ridiculous settlement of about $75 per veteran exposed and the team of lawyers probably pared that down to roughly $25 per veteran.

My Dad was an MP in Vung Tau from 67-69. Was there during the TET offensive. He claims this was the best time of his life. All he did was fight drunk Marines and get blow jobs. Ironically enough he came back home got a job at Monsanto in Luling. He worked there for 20 years. He is still alive and kicking and doing well at 77 years old.

My uncle has had multiple myeloma for 8 or 9 years. He did a tour in the Air Force as a flight line pogue at on of the bases that AO missions were flown out of. Surprisingly, his dealings with the VA have been pretty smooth . But, there's been AO legislation passed since this settlement.

$180 million yeah, glad they* got something for their sacrifice, but that is peanuts.
In 2023 Biden spent $66 Billion on Illegal Immigrants food, housing, schooling, medical care and other services.

Not to make light of the situation, but AO cut Delmore Barry down to nothing. Could even be lifted off the sheets by an old lady.

How much of it goes to Ukraine?

Why post this now, it was settled in 1984, that is 40 fricking years ago, doesn't make it less of a travesty, but it was 40 years ago and you are posting it like it was current news, idiot bastard

Father in Law is dying from his exposure while in Vietnam; his limbs completely numb from elbow to hands and mid-thigh to feet. Couple that with mid/nearing late stage dementia, which they said can also be contributed to Agent Orange. VA FINALLY got him on fully disabled vet status about 2 years ago after a multi, multi-years long fight.
frick the VA

Most vietnam vets I met on my journey have been messed up people. Our government forced these men into life and death situations in a war that was hated by our own population. Our government needs to take care of these people.

A lot people in this thread have a right at us government to be angry that veterans were exposed to agent orange. But the damage that has done most and still doing(to a small degree) is the impact it has on Vietnamese infant born.
My wife visited a center in Ðà Nang aim at housing and taking care of children born with defects and disabilities resulting from AO. She said it was so horrific that she stated tearing up. On infant’s head was like a large mangled grapefruit. She told me that the infant died a few months later.

Veterans have been getting benefits from this settlement since 1984. And veteran's survivors are eligible as well. My father qualified and my mother receives his benefits after he passed away. We had trouble trying to get online approval so we went to a local VA office in Gonzales and the caseworker there was great. Cut through all the red tape and got my Dad what he deserved.

Even in 1984 dollars it’s an absolute disgrace, roughly $75 per veteran exposed.

Are they suing the US Military for dumping the agent orange?

After suffering for over 50 years it is about time.
It took me 15 years to receive com-pension.

Yet we are paying for dindu’s baby mama food and drink. Housing illegals. Feeding the non-tax payers. Funding Ukraine. Giving away military assets. LGBTLMNOP…whoever they are. I am so fricking disappointed in the way they disavow any respect for our heroes. Our Veterans have served and given, yet our government has no regard to their well being. It is time we stand for what has made this Country great. It is time to say who we are and what we stand for. It is time be proactive,as being reactive has gotten us to the point of defeat
