Why is the west melting over Chinese "overproduction"?

I've seen this headline a few times in the last week and don't really understand what this is. What's wrong with flexing your industrial muscle and putting out lots of product? Do we not like free markets anymore?

Free markets are always tempered against the reality of the rules they follow.

You can’t have a free market if the sides aren’t even playing the same game

Glut the Market.

Buffet sold a huge chunk of his Apple stock , what does he know?

All this affects the stock market , in a negative way.

Can't have those dividends being cut in this type of economic climate.

Chinese overproduction is hurting their economy. They have 1,000s of EVs rotting in vacant fields. They have 100s of large buildings that will never be occupied.
