Never. Drinking and after a meal or a nut are the worst for me

Yeah, she was a smokers smoker almost unapologetic for years even after the kids were born. She didn't sneak them but she did not smoke outright in front of them. Her sister was worse. You never saw her without one.....now she's a workout fiend. Both of them never left the house to go out without at least 2 packs on them for the day.

It takes about 3 - 4 months for the dopamine receptors in your brain to return to normal.

It's just a different world now with regards to smoking, and I'm not necessarily saying it's a negative thing at all, but your age might shape your opinion on it.

Funny, my wife and I were in Mississippi maybe 6-7 years ago and the restaurant hostess asked us "smoking or non" and we both looked at each other like wtf

Congrats on quitting. I've heard it's insanely hard to quit.

Side note, I'm not being an arse, how do people get hooked on these? I have never liked the smell and think I've tried like 1 ever and couldn't believe how bad it was.

Recently had a friend who was a pack a day smoker started with a simple cough then started tasting a little blood with the cough. Drs found a smoking caused tumor the size of a baseball in his left lung.
He went from a energetic healthy guy to an 80 lb skeleton in 4 months then died. If that won't stop anyone from smoking Nothing will.

You don't want to hear this. I have not touched a cigarette in over 50 years and I can still close my eyes and taste them.

I quit over 20 years ago and yes, every once in a while I get an urge. The biggest time I get it s when I go fishing. I still will slap my pocket to reach for a cigarette when I throw out a line. Its really comical. Just proves its more of a habit than an urge.

I dipped a can a day. Quit almost 1 year ago.

Use the losanges. They are bad but they do help with the nicotine.

The bad cravings took about a week or 10 days to subside.
I went about 3 -4 months wanting a dip when I woke up or ate.

I rarely think about it now.

It’s been years and I still crave one every time I go out to eat and have a couple drinks.

pack a day smokers
Rookie numbers. Quit in 96. Two packs or more a day. Took maybe 5 years or so. Usually after eating or partying somewhere. It was the worst choice and best choice to quit.

A couple of tips.
1. Make a list of all the times when you smoke more, drinking, stress at work, etc. Do them all, check them off.
2. Make a list of all the people you have always wanted to piss off. Now is the time to piss them off. They will cut you some slack if they know you are quitting.

6-12 months for all the cravings to take place. I actually lost weight.

IF they told me I only had a few weeks to live or if the world was going to end, I'd go out a get 2-3 cartons and have at it. Cravings never go away

Cold turkey was the only way for me

3 days to get out of the really bad cravings

21 days of cravings that were tough but beatable

Probably around Day 75-100 is when you can move on and go days without thinking about it. I still have “cravings” occasionally .

I’m just over 2.5 weeks into quitting (last cigarette was 17 Apr), and still can’t quit craving a smoke about 50 times a day. Of course some times are worse than others, and it’s now pretty easy ignore, but do the cravings ever fully go away?
you will still crave them for over a year after. Then it will just become normal for you to not be a smoker. Good luck

A little over a year.

They really quit when I smoked a cigar (no inhaling). I smoke a cigar on occasion, but since I did that, I have not wanted a cigarette at all. Before that, smelling cigarette smoke made me want one, now it has no effect at all.
