8-10 years ago people would have said to pay more than $300k for any home would be absolutely stupid.

Those same people are now trying to argue a $200k apartment is a good investment.

They keep picking exceptions and not the overwhelming norms on average. Whether you pick average home price or median home price in the US, both are over 400k. How someone can look at inflation and todays rates coupled with the stagnation of pay increases and with a straight face say housing is affordable is absurd.

$200k was the amount that was given by the people saying houses aren't affordable. You can't complain about people finding houses in the range given.

A decade ago, the median home price in Houston was $192k (2014, single family).

Now (2023), it is $330k.
