The school board tried getting rid of him last week and failed.

I live here. My understanding is that he realized they weren't going to let him do his job. It would be constant fighting and distractions. Which isn't good for the kids, so he decided to finally give in despite winning the vote last week.
Some members of the community have this one completely wrong. Pell City Football has never had any kind of spotlight on it till now. Yes, it was initially bad attention, but in the end he drives headlines, which is good for players and the community. Especially if he were able to start winning. I do not give a shite about his personal life, dude was a good hire for what they needed. Pell City is a nice place to live, but there are some fricking idiots here just like every where else. Wouldn't be surprised if the main opponents aren't even here full time, just live on the lake in the summer.

The guy has burned bridges everywhere he's been.
He is napalm.
Stinks because he's a brilliant coach.

I can't think of another so-called mentor being so bankrupt of character. What price glory?

I’ve interviewed the guy before. I actually like him in a weird sort of way although you want to check your hand after he shakes it to make sure your fingers are all there.
He is a brilliant coach and has won everywhere he’s been and would likely have won at Pell City but you have to look at yourself in the mirror and ask if the end justifies the means.
You basically know up front that he’s going to do outlaw stuff and he tries to spin it as “I’m just trying to get kids scholarships” so he’ll basically tell you the end does justify the means. Although I have heard his motives are not entirely altruistic, have heard that he’s under the table involved in some NIL stuff that given his track record you’d have to give it scrutiny.
And people who say his personal life is irrelevant when his job is working with minors are just silly.
