The goal of women is to be a housewive/kept woman without actually having to do work associated with that.

You are a real special unhinged feller. General statements like this blow my mind, and expose the intelligence of the one saying them/agreeing with them. Because general blanket statements like this are based on a biased pre conceived notion that do not actually carry weight in reality across the board.

Right? Now that I know that is the goal, I need to hurry up and be a kept woman. Plenty of time for ponies that way!

Boomers:
“We’ve made it too expensive to own a home, car prices are out of control, food costs both in restaurants and at grocery stores have spiked, and your pay has remained relatively stagnant.”
“WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU CAN’T AFFORD TO HAVE A CHILD??? I HAD THREE KIDS BY THE TIME I WAS 25!”

45% of millennial women are not following the “traditional” societal timelines of getting married, buying a home, and having kids.
but complain about not having money.
My parents had two incomes and had kids.
These women approaching 40 with one income... i cant afford an apt in NY, wah. I shouldn't have to have a roommate at age 40.

Exactly! My youngest is a junior in HS so I can relate but this guy is way off on his COL increases in the last 3-4 years. To put it simply, You're paying at least double for starter homes now than you were 15-16 years ago. Same for goceries, fuel, etc. And salaries (at least in my industry) have increased maybe 15% over the same time.
The market conditions for young families is nothing like 15 years ago.

my wife and i together make more money than my parents did at our ages right now. my parents had 3 kids and had more disposable income than we do with 1 kid just because of the cost of living.
interest rates are so out of control used car loans are predatory

People simply don’t want to give up their 4 times a year vacations and new cars to have children. And that’s ok, but why act like you couldn’t cut back and afford it?
It’s probably also the several thousand you have to pay to deliver a baby at a hospital and the 800-1200 per month (on the low end) for daycare.
Not everyone wants to be a sahm.

My youngest is a HS senior. It’s not like this is the ancient past. My wife and I were DINKs in the early 2000s. She was a bank manager, I was a junior network engineer. We made equal income and she quit her job. We moved to the boonies where schools weren’t dangerous and housing was cheaper. We definitely sacrificed.
You can never explain this to folks who do not want to understand.
Their explanation will always be rising costs but never needs versus wants.
Its that simple. They factor in needs as necessities then complain about things "costing" more.
Cost and spend are two totally different things.

Your pseudo-intellectual response is laughable and doesn't make sense. If Gen-Z and millenneal women, want to forego having kids because they are "prioritizing their careers and finances over having children" , that is fine with me, but it is extremely selfish. I am not advocating purging them, they are purging themselves.

It's not easy for anyone to reduce the comfort level they're accustomed to. People aren't willing to raise children with less than they had or to reduce their own accustomed comforts. Nobody wants to take a step back simply for procreation. Like I said earlier, I think it's short-sighted but it's definitely a problem.

I think you need an edit here. Needs are necessities.
