re: Why have churches started allowing gay preachers?

This has been the struggle within the last several years within the United Methodist Church. Many churches have already taken votes. The ones that have a majority that disagree either join the newly created Global Methodist Church or choose to go independent. Also some Methodist Churches just don’t vote but lets be honest, not voting still puts you on a side since you agree with it but are to afraid to break away.

Onan and his brother were not struck dead just because they pulled out. They were struck dead because they pulled out so they wouldn’t impregnate their dead brother’s wife. It was their job to be kinsman redeemers of their deceased brother’s line. The child they put in her would be considered her dead husband’s child, thus redeeming his family line and returning everyone’s inheritance back to a one third share. They were struck dead for being greedy because they didn’t want their inheritance divided 3 ways.
Wrong.
The older brother was struck down, and Onan was next in line. He was struck down because he used her to get his rocks off while trying to avoid impregnating her.
He could have deferred to a more junior male. You mentioned Ruth. Boaz wasn't next in line, but he made an agreement with the unnamed kinsman who was next in line.

You’re half right about me being wrong. The older brother was her husband and struck down for being wicked. Genesis 38 8-10 specifically mentions what Onan did and why he did: too keep from impregnating her because the child would not be his. That was what got him into trouble. The whole story is a fascinating window into that culture. The dad ends up inadvertently restoring his son’s line because she disguised herself as a prostitute and seduced him. The dad did not pull out.

Because wolves don't come as wolves, they'll come dressed in sheep's clothing and the flock will welcome them in as a sign of compassion and that compassion will be their downfall

He could have accomplished the same thing (not having a child count as his brother's) by simply ignoring her. Instead he used her to get his rocks off.

So did the dad. He believed her to be a whore. He was not struck dead.

Just saw something on the news saying Methodist churches will allow gays to be in the ministry. If that’s how you wanna live your life, go ahead but that is completely against Christian living. How can they condone someone living in sin this way? Makes no sense to me, the day baptists start allowing it will be the last time I’ll walk through those doors.
I think that this is a sorting of the wheat and the tares.
The interesting thing is that the wheat and the tares are actually sorting themselves out.
Choose wisely...

Can somebody please link us to one of these Gay Pastors explanation of how this new rule in the UMC is in line with Sola Scriptura? What exact biblical passages do they use to justify this perverted move?

Is there a way they identify? We left the UMC years back because of the hive thing but absent that it was cool.

The methodist church is cucked beyond repair. We haven't been back to our old church in years since the pastor kept trying to tell us how great muslims are after the 2016 election

There is a huge chasm between "Muslims are OK" and "Gay Sex is OK". I took the time to read the UMC's Confession of Faith and it's quite standard for a Protestant denomination.
What puzzles me to a high degree is, how does one use Bible Alone to get to the conclusions that Gay Sex is OK? I am very interested in walking through the analytical process that these New Reformers used to get to this conclusion that "The Bible says that Gay Sex is OK".

Could be the beginning of the Great Apostasy
"In 2 Thessalonians 2:3, Paul makes it clear that the day of the Lord, a time of worldwide judgment (Isaiah 13:6; Obadiah 1:15), will not transpire until two things happen. First, the falling away, or great apostasy, must occur. Second, the “man of lawlessness” must be revealed, he who is called the “son of perdition,” also known as the Antichrist. Once this person makes himself known, the end times will indeed have come. Numerous speculations about the identity of the man of sin, beginning in the first century, have included Caligula, Caius Caesar, Mohammed, Napoleon, and any number of Roman popes. None of them were the Antichrist."

Methodist church just split.
The liberals are now the UMC with the gay pastors.
The GMC (global methodist church) are the conservatives who are trying to figure out what version of the bible the UMC is reading, but are mostly glad to have the purple haired activists elsewhere.
The split is basically along political lines and I suspect the UMC church will bleed members as they become more and more progressive without the GMC former members to keep them in check.

Go find a global methodist church and itll be like your old church was before they let a woke pastor in.

Anyone too weak to stand up for their values within their church isn't much of a Christian to begin with.
We are told to be compassionate, not weak.

They are going to be cash rich.
You must pay a fee to leave and then negotiate the terms of the real estate.
It’s sickening.

It's called being tied to the whims of the congregation and money. Where I live in Texas, we took a vote, split off, and went Global. What was sad is the day of the vote is when so called members showed up in force. Never saw most of them except at Easter and Christmas. After the vote, they left. I figured good riddance, never saw them anyway or were they productive in the church. It's a little different in my home town. There are 2 Methodist churches very close to each other and pretty well both share the same Conservative beliefs. One took a vote and decided to become Independent. They just dropped the United name. From what I gather the y don't need help from the United brand. The other just decided not to vote and stay in the fold. There was obviously some member swapping but I promise you the only reason that church that didn't vote is staying afloat is the members are attached to the pastor and the church itself. The moment he retires, which could be soon, or someone urgently asks for a gay wedding and it happens, there will be a mass exodus. It is almost like don't ask nd don't tell and lets just keep everyone happy.
