Never been prouder to be Catholic than I am right now.
Pretty ironical for Catholics to be flexing on this, being the OG of sexual deviance. I'm a sinner like everyone else, but the very last thing I would want to try to explain to God is destroying the lives of thousands of kids, leading them down that path. I guess the Methodists have rid themselves of the ones who actually read the Bible, so they are free to vote to condone sin. Bold move.

The idea of man deciding what is or is not sin in the eyes of God based on social movements of the era

Well when you're the original Church you tend to have the OG of pretty much everything.

Mainline protestant churches are in decline.

Not sure if this guy is serious but wow. He doesn't even attempt to uphold the Bible that he is employed to represent. Either way hell has no depths for this kind of stuff....this is worse than the prosperity gospel BS.

It's really not. If it isn't the 'preacher' or the 'priest' then it is the 'youth minister' or the 'music minister' or some other homosexual predator scurrying around looking for the next kid to molest. Its fricking sick and no way in hell would I allow my kids in that environment. No thanks.
Not sure where I stand on the church’s new position, but I’m pretty sure there are quite a few heterosexual predators also scurrying around looking for the next kid to molest.

Correct and it will continue
Pew Center for Research has modeled trends and it is abysmal. Anyone of sound and sober mind would say 'we aren't doing something right'

As of December of 2023 appx. 1/4 of the Congregations of the UMC left the affiliation over the stance of the UMC in the USA over the LGBTQ problem. The number of the congregations was over 7600. Many joined the Global Methodist some like my own have remained independent.

This isn't something to praise GOD for, you dimwitted dolt.
You should fix that to read "hail Satan!"
We're getting dangerously close now, folks. Buckle up. Prepare your food stores, sundries and your very soul for the tribulations which will come to pass.

In a 692-51 vote the church’s legislative body passed several rules without debate, including overturning both its ban on gay clergy and the penalties for holding same-sex marriages, according to the United Methodist News service.
Has got to be due to declining membership.

Going to be a lot of empty church buildings for sale in the coming years

According to the church’s news service, members cheered, cried and hugged after the vote.
They may have won this battle, but they have already lost the war. The UMC will continue to leak into inexistence as long as they continue to view the men that wrote the Bible as not being inspired by God.

Maybe so. But Catholics hardly have anything to crow about here, with all the relatively recent sexual predator clergy, and the church playing musical chairs with sexual predator clergy instead of having them picked up by the police. Then you have all the lives of the kids and families that were destroyed by the act, by reporting it and facing repercussions from the church, and families being ripped apart from the trauma. Methodists just told the Catholics, "hold my beer."

My baptist church in houston just lost an assistant pastor to a breakaway methodist church in Jackson, Mississippi. They went nondenominational. I think they got a great pastor and their future is bright.

Here's the main difference: those people are committing a grave sin in the eyes of the Church when they do those things and are putting their immortal souls in jeopardy as a result. There has never been a formal doctrine or dogma allowing priests to take advantage of children.
The United Methodist Church just endorsed mortal sin. The Catholic Church has never and will never do that.
