I am neither pessimistic nor sold on us winning at this point. We have the better athletes. Maybe our players and coaches want to prove something now after a disappointing season. Tech may be a little overconfident. Advantage LSU. Maybe JJ has big coming out! If so, LSU could roll it up big. On the downside, I am wondering who is getting the defense ready, how committed the departing coaches are to proving something, and whether they can come up with something better than we have seen most of this season. Could be a really interesting game either way.

I agree to an extent, but the product LSU put on the field for much of this season also made me want to . The only thing we have to judge this team on is past performances and they have been mediocre at best. We shall see.....

Yep.

Nope. We have already seen what this team is made of.

This year's TEAM is not the worst in the history of the program. This year's DEFENSE is the worst in the history of the program.

After seeing how LSU has fared against option-type offenses over the past couple of years (Florida, Arkie wild hog, etc.), I don't see how any sane person could expect us to make any kind of showing at all on defense. Our offense will inevitably fail to score on some possessions, and even three or four stops will be all Georgia Tech needs. Maybe even less than that.

This one might as well be in the books already. Georgia Tech will roll us.

LSU is in a serious transition mode. For the most part, the entire defensive staff is moving on. Fan support for this Bowl and match-up is essentially non-existent. To quote Chris Warner it comes down to the program being in a "National Championship Hangover". I basically agree with you. This is a home game for Georgia Tech who will outnumber LSU fans well over the 5 digit mark. It's LSU against themselves and the world and that's a bad scenario for a true freshman QB on his 2nd start. LSU will play hard and with pride, but mistakes and the triple option will do them in. The game will be a microcosim of this miserable season.

Bring on the announcement of our new D.C. and National Signing Day with Russell Shepard, and hopefully, Rueben Randle committing. IMO it appers that this is infinately more important to the majority of LSU fans than the outcome of the Chick-Fil-A bowl.
pretty much sums it up

Bullcrap. If you take out JL's pick sixes and look at the offensive scoring averages of the teams we've played (outside of their games with us) it isn't even close.

Look, our Defense stunk it up this year, but to call it the worst ever is just ignorant.

LSU will win against GA. TECH. Herman Johnson's statement in the paper indicated what the major problem was with this team. He said for the FIRST time this year at practice the coaches were getting on players and paying attention to details. Mallory and Peveto have been too concerned about being the players friend rather than their coach. I believe there will be a totally different approach and attitude by the LSU team.LSU will win easily. You can book it.In the Marines the drill instructor is not your friend, pays attention to detail and kicks your butt until you do it right. At LSU the coaches need an attitude adjustment.

I think Lsu is gonna blow out Ga. Tech. Then the media will say that Ga. Tech was not ready to play the game because they took lsu for granted. Just Saying. Just because they beat georgia doesn't make them invinceable. Who the f*&k is Ga. Tech.

Pretty sad when a coach who has run the option for 20+ years figures playing LSU is a good opportunity to work in some Run-n-shoot elements.

I like our chances in this game. With only a week to prepare we would be in major trouble. With a month to prepare, we should wipe the floor with these punks.

Johnson ran the run & shoot along with his option as OC at both GA Southern and Hawaii prior to moving to Navy. He has stated over and over that he wants to throw the ball more, he just didn't have the hosses at Navy and he didn't need to at GA Southern. He is not doing this for LSU, he has stated on numerous occasions that this spring will see the R&S package of his offense installed.

All I can say is that rested teams under Les Miles average 41 ppg and give up under 14.

Many thought that LSU had little chance vs. Miami of '05. Go back to 2000, and we had little chance vs. GT and that was at halftime.

We're underdogs, but if tis team finds a way to put it togther in that month that they're off, then we could see some LSU of old.

Oh ye of little faith!

I heard Miles was happy to get Tech because he could focus the defense on preparing for a more one-dimensional offense and not have to rely too much on the secondary.

Practices have been intense. Herm Johnson told media people around slacking and walking around and he liked the tempo. Miles was hoarse after the first practice.

We have better talent. If they can learn and keep their assignments and work on tackling fundamentals we can contain Tech.

Our offense will put up points against their D. I think it will be something of a shootout.

I like our chances. Bring your energy, your voice and an expectation of WINNING to the Dome!

Absolutely correct. I've followed Johnson from Ga. Southern days living here in Jawja. He's a damn good coach and his comments on local radio after the UGA game follow what you say.

I don't think we will see a huge emphasis on more passing for the bowl...maybe a couple of plays trying to take advantage of LSU focusing on the option reads. I expect something in the first or second possession. But it will be interesting to see what rolls out for Tech next season. I would not be surprised to see the Yellow Jackets go to the ACC championship game in '09.

Don't underestimate LSU. We have plenty enough to win this game, just need to put it together. Miles does a better job of preparing for bowl games than Der Fuhrer did. We will compete.

Gonna get skull fricked in this game. Thank goodness I'll be working on a drunk.

What a pussy you are. We have a better team and will show. I hate the some of the coward like confidence. Les will have the team ready to play and we will out man GT. The team is up-lifted knowing the JJ can play and they will have good defensive coaches next year. Tigers by 10.

It's the worst defense in ten years, easily.

This game reminds me a lot of last year's bowl match-up insofar as what squads are getting the most attention.

Last year all the press talked about was how OSU's offense would fare versus our defense. I kept wondering why no one was pointing out that it might be prudent to wonder that very same thing when LSU's offense was on the field against OSU's defense.

I'm feeling the same way about this game.
