Have Kirk cousins to offer. Could be a huge haul. QBs always get hurt before the playoffs. Look at last year. Get penix and more picks later on. Just a random way I thought of to half justify

Not sure about that.. Cousins got a no trade clause with ATL

So you expect a newly acquired QB to come in and master the playbook that quickly? This is a big reason why we don't see a lot of in season QB trades, IMO.

But what if the falcons are contending???

The trade deadline is way earlier in the NFL than the NBA or MLB. Like Week 6. Also, I don’t think that contract is tradable in Year 1. The dead cap hit would be astronomical. And nobody taking on that contract is also gonna give up any significant assets. They’d be doing the Falcons a huge solid taking on that contract, they’re not gonna give them 1st and 3nd round draft picks too. Hell, the Falcons would probably have to throw in picks as sweeteners.

There’d no scenario where the Falcons “process” was smart. There’s some where it may work out, but that would be more dumb luck than them being smart.

NFL trades outside of the draft rarely return anything close to equal value.

CmC got the Panthers a 2nd, a 3rd, a couple 4ths, and a 5th. He's one of the best players in the league.

Is anyone as dumb as the falcons to take on that contract with Cousins? No matter how desperate?

I don’t think so.
