Link? So sick of you losers spouting whatever lies come to your tiny brains just because you’re pouting because a woman has the audacity to disagree with a bunch of middle aged and older men on the internet.

Dang, I had no idea this school district was formed in 2022. How many students does this school district serve? How many schools does it oversee? Why has it been kept a secret for two years?
Why did you misquote the link you posted? That law pertains to the Central Community school system and its from 2007.

2022 is the edition of the state law update this citation was taken from dumbass. and the funding mechanism was not approved because it requires a ? vote, (when Broome et al when in the Senate told us to form a city to get the school). If you had actually read the citation you would have seen the part that says,
well that will be fixed soon
Take the L dumbass, you're only embarassing yourself with every response.

EBR got stuck with the legacy costs of Baker, Zachary, and Central. They are still funding those costs by the way.
Baker was incorporated in 1944
Zachary was incorporated in 1899

That was referring the school system, not the city government.

Calling ME a dumbass when you literally lied in your post by changing the words in your “quote” to fit your fantasy.
Fake news. Downvote away. We hate when women are right around here. How dare someone with a vagina correct an old white man!

So from what I can best gleen, we are waiting for the rehearing delays to run, then the Gov. will appoint a Mayor and set elections.
Then there will be elections for Council & Mayor.
It will be these people who take on the City of Baton Rouge for St. George and negotiate the $$ and what happens.
We need some good people.

Can 70808 get annexed into St George?

Serious question: what happens to the areas the SWB annexed into the city of Baton Rouge after the vote took place?
Null and void This includes Lipsey's, United Plaza
The Advocate had a different take:
Several businesses and organizations, including the LSU campus, the Mall of Louisiana and L’Auberge Casino have already been annexed into Baton Rouge so as not to be included in the new city of St. George.
I'm not trying to poke, I'm genuinely interested in the answer to this question.

These sought annexation (at MOPs urging) in the three years between the "failure" of the first vote and the filing of the new incorporation petition. Any annexation since the filing of the petition (and the setting of the boundaries of the proposed city) are, by law, null.

I've read that any annexations that occurred after November 2019 are null and void. This will likely have to be litigated.

It doesn’t make sense that a parish would have to “turn over” or surrender its assets to a new city that formed after the assets were established. Seems like EBR could lease or sell the buildings to St. George similarly to how the Archdiocese and NOLA-PS leases and sells its buildings to charter schools.
As I understand it, the new district will have to purchase the assets.

Isn’t this EXACTLY why St. George was formed? To remove itself from Baton Rouge?
No. St George has never been a part of Baton Rouge.

Lakeview next?
I believe that’s a whole different situation because Lakeview is part of the City of New Orleans.

Which doesn't make sense really. The taxpayers paid for those assets. The taxpayers have lost nothing by those assets being transferred to another government to be used for the same, identical purpose they were being used for previously.

Changes nothing. They are going to be used for the same purpose they are used for now.
