The bank that underwrites the lease gets it then if it's qualified.
True... but I would think most dealers/lenders would pass the credit along to the lessee, otherwise, there is no enticement to lease that particular vehicle. Volvo, for instance, passes the $7,500 credit on for leasing say.. an XC 60 Recharge on to the lessee.

I've only done 2 EV lease portfolios and both were pre-IRA with Tesla but those banks passed nothing through and kept it all for themselves because it was a key part of their economics. I think that has changed a lot though with competition. Back then Tesla was still the only really show in town.

Almost all modern gasoline vehicles can be remotely disabled
This is one of the dumbest conspiracies ever

They want you to believe it’s for climate change and the environment. Dupes believe that.

Plus... with foreign car purchases no longer eligible for the EV credit, Volvo would simply be stupid NOT to pass it on to their customers... that is if they want people to actually consider one of their EVs.

Until the government decides you can have more
The Government can already shut off every service you have if they want to. Electric cars aren’t some trigger for that
We live in a Welfare State already - when you do things like print trillions of dollars of ‘stimulus’ money and hand it out like candy that’s what you become. Four straight administrations have done this now.
Electric cars are no more of a boogeyman than your cellphone or bank account is because government can shut those down anytime they choose.

They can't turn my solar off. But for everything else i mostly agree with the exception that they don't really own any energy infrastructure and would need a lot of private companies to collude to do anything.

I've never once wondered. They are another boondoggle for short term gain.

Question for the progressives:
Are electric cars heavier than other cars?
Also think about parking deck structure. You are not going to put a whole parking deck of EV's in them because of weight. The parking decks were not engineered that way. Many would collapse.

If you're the one that is in Montana, I was stationed at Malmstrom in Great Falls in the early 90's. Got pretty warm in the summer (not souf georgia hot but still hot) and was definitely cold in the winter.
We travel...a lot. Our place in Montana is west of Kalispell.

Assuming the avg EV is 3K lbs, to tow 20k lbs the truck will have to weigh 7500 plus. You'll be essentially moving 9 EV's. You'd have to have a battery with 1000kWh or so. Thats a big battery and it's gonna take a bunch of solar panels to charge.
Right, which is why I have a diesel F-350. We considered a toy hauler and a Vandergall Edison, but we're very happy with what we ended up in.

I understand what you are saying but they can already disable your gas vehicle. I've seen people who didn't pay their car notes get their vehicle disabled. Couldn't drive it bc they flipped a switch. They already at that point.

You can remotely turn off electricity to an oil refinery, dumb arse.
A lot of large plants have their own cogen. They aren’t pulling electricity off the electricity grid.

There have been recent political fights over "kill switches in all cars." I'm sure that wouldn't have worked in my 1948 Chevrolet Sport Coupe Deluxe, but in any modern car with lots of chips, it wouldn't be hard for the buggers to do.

That's a pretty idiotic take by the OP.

We saw limitations on freedom of movement when the stay at home orders were in place for covid. This is just a way for the government to continue assault on our most basic freedoms.

They can already do this to your home or business. They also can cut off your internet, freeze your bank accounts and credit cards, disbale your cellphone service, cut your water off and just about anything else they want to do right now.
All these things are true, but if they limit your ability to travel undetected, you are truly then a slave of the state.

Hunh? Aren't gas pumps operated by electricity? I've never seen a manually operated gaspump.
Every gas pump in America can be disabled simultaneously with a flick of a switch.
