You can’t block a bridge legally period.

Much less a busy road.

Protests need permits so that society can move along with limited interruption.

Simple.

If a protest causes you to be late for work, miss a flight, etc, the protestors should be liable for damages.

No, that's how YOU end up in prison.

The correct answer is to sue the organizations backing these protests into bankruptcy.

20 days of roadside trash pickup per hr of disruption. Not to be served consecutively, max two days a week. Weekends available for people with jobs.

Failure to show three times means mandatory jail, and remaining days of roadside pickup still have to be completed after release.

That would put the breaks on that BS.

Also, if a "protestor" is killed or injured by a moving vehicle while blocking a road, the driver of said vehicle should face zero liability.

All of the accomplices to the protest should be subjected to the liability and criminal charges.

It's a form of kidnapping. Keeping people against their will

Shouldnt be, if our legal system were actually just.

Its false imprisonment.

If I have to leave my car to get to something important, then its theft.
