Baseball hitters who want to be at the plate with the game on the line

Last year, LSU had several players who would be begging for the opportunity to 'be that guy'.
This yea, not so much.
Other than Tommy White, I don't see anyone else.

This is where the lack of experience is hitting us the hardest. We don’t have anyone that’s been that guy except White. Jones was clutch against Kentucky last year. Travinski against ole miss. But they were never the focal points. They are now.

Yep, and it's very easy to pitch to them when there is not much protection around them.

I’m not saying you are wrong, because I don’t know. But how do you know nobody on this team wants to be at the plate with the game on the line?

No one has that confident cocky swag about them. No one is firing up their teammates.

Too many times since SEC play began, with runners in scoring position, we get Ks, or worse, a roll over swing into a double play.
This HAS to be working on them. It’s like ‘knowing ‘ that something bad is about to happen, and then it does.
Tough spot! ...... and there’s no easy fix.

It’s baseball, not a damn fashion runway or a WWE match.

So far, the only guys I feel comfortable to get on base consistently are:
1. Tanks
2. Larson
3. Braswell

Bingham gets on base a fair amount but seems to never get it when there’s guys on base unfortunately

Oh yeah, no doubt. That’s logical. That’s not what the op is stating.
OP is assuming all these high level recruits and former state Gatorade players of the year are now afraid to hit.

Downvote away, but I feel like our best player doesn't want the bat either when the pressure is up.
I think he tends to swing early in the count in pressure situations. He hit a weak pop out last night to end the game.
And don't forget his base running mistake that closed an inning yesterday. Braswell got a hit to start the next inning. Tanks cost us a run or more with that terrible base running. I feel like he has checked out like the rest of the team.
Nobody on this team is clutch at the plate.

Who says they aren’t timid at the plate?
Because you should know as well as I do that SEC pitching is a different stratosphere level of hard compared to any high school pitching. Hence why most of our young hitters start struggling mightily when SEC play starts.

Then maybe they should have been challenged a little more in the pre season, instead of the collection of stiffs we played

Because, who on this team is regularly getting timely hits when runners are in scoring position?
Last year we had numerous players that stepped up when we needed hits. Also… how many times last year did we get runs scored on multiple hits, with no one on base, when there were 2 outs? A lot. How many this year? I can’t think of hardly any.

You’re either a good hitter or you’re not. There’s no clutch, crunch time nonsense.

We just don’t have many good hitters. It’s not a crunch time thing.

Are we just going to ignore that Tanks hit the 2nd most famous HR in the history of LSU and college baseball and you’re going to sit there and say he’s not clutch at the plate?
