Jay only got 2 position players in the portal. He was banking on some of these freshman and sophomores coming around. I mean we’ve got the Gatorade players of the year from 4 states and they have not made the jump. He should have hit the portal and got a couple more proven players. The pitching staff IDK. We got some guys and other than Holman it has not worked out. Remember our pen was not great most of last year until the end.

He seems pretty good at choking in the super regionals with the best team he will probably ever have.

Fine, let’s compare Vitello to your last 2 coaches before JJ.

Skip Bertman- first 5 years as HC, 2 Omaha trips. Took 8 years to win his 1st title. Missed NCAA tournament TWICE in first 5 years.

PM- took 14 years as HC before he made his 1st Omaha appearance, and 21 years ti win his 1st national championship.

Vitello- first 5 years as HC, 2 Omaha trips, and made first appearance in 3rd year like Skip. Missed ncaa tournament ONCE in first 5 years.

If you ask me, Vitello is doing just fine when you compare the same time frame as a HC. It took PM 21 years to win his first title as HC. So if Vitello wins a title before 21 years, does that mean he’s better than PM?

I thought by spending 4 years in the Army that I had met some of the dumbest individuals this country has to offer…

And then I found Tiger Droppings.

The gift that keeps on giving!

What about what I said wasn’t facts? Vitello as a HC has a long ways to go before he’s even close to either of those coaches, I know that. But all these “lsu fans” think Vitello “chokes” every year, but they don’t realize that 2 of the greatest coaches in LSU history didn’t even have the same success as Vitello had the first 5 years. PM took over a loaded team from a great and won right away. Vitello took over a dead program with no history.

Agree. Kling and Neal have been given every opportunity. They are not SEC level

If there's a repeat of this year, Johnson will be fired.

People need to quit making excuses. Johnson looks completely lost right now.
when players don’t play well coaches look a little lost.

No one could coach this group to a decent season

All I know is that Tony Vitello has been knocking on the door of a national title and he is getting closer and closer.
If a guy like Vitello keeps making it to Omaha the chips will eventually fall his way. He seems to be outgrowing his punk attitude, too.

Worst post Skip season in SEC play was Maneiri's first 12-17.

True.

But at this point in the season, 2011 and 2021 were only 1 game better in SEC Play.

2011 4-11 ended 13-17
2021 4-11 ended 13-17
2024 3-12 Ends up ??-??

Progression by series going forward for those years.

2011

Series 6 4-14
Series 7 7-14
Series 8 8-16
Series 9 11-16
Series 10 13-17

2021

Series 6 6-12
Series 7 7-14
Series 8 9-15
Series 9 11-16
Series 10 13-17

Here is who we face going forward

@ Mizzou - 5-10
Auburn - 2-12
A&M - 11-4
@ Alabama - 6-9
Ole Miss - 5-10

Here are the low watermarks for LSU baseball post-Skip.

2006 (Smoke) - 13-17
2007 (PM) - 12-17-1
2011 (PM) - 13-17
2021 (PM) - 13-17

Serrano left better talent than Smoke did.

You’re out of your element.

If Vitello took over after Raleigh, you may have an argument.

Why is your comparison to PM? Let's compare Vitello to JJ.
