But the government is still getting what it wants, which is him fulfilling his job in the public sector
Which is odd because he has posts talking about how useless the government is. Oh but its cool if he does it.

You just seem to be jealous that he is hustling on the side.
Wait, what? You think someone is jealous of him because he has to work extra because he doesnt make enough money at his regular job?
God yall do sound like government workers

You're really trying hard to make a silly point stick.
Also calling military veterans welfare queens is in bad taste on your part but you do you.
They're getting a handout without paying for it, just like ole boy in the OP. I'm sorry your position isn't consistent, but why are my taxes paying for someone else's decision?

You just described insurance.
The difference with insurance is those that it get passed on to sign up for it. Deadbeats that don’t want to pay their student loans think it should be passed to the responsible taxpayers that pay their bills and never agreed to cover yours

For a whole 10 years until he leaves for good

Congrats on being an adult. It happens.

Never ever scoff when you see someone in section 8 or someone loading up their escalade after using the LA purchase card because you are one of them.

Military men getting their education for free because they fulfilled an obligation: good, based, fair
Public sector workers getting their education subsidized because they fulfilled an obligation: woke, evil, communism
And I graduated with no student debt because I had a mountain of scholarships and went to LSU instead of going out of state. Good try though. Unless you consider TOPS a woke handout too.

Dude, give it up. It's a bad argument on your part. The GI bill is part of the compensation of military.

Its hilarious the people on here take issue with PSLF forgiveness which mostly benefits healthcare workers.

But then they don't have a problem with government bailing out major corporations or subsidizing farmers

You are calling veterans welfare queens to defend growing the number of government workers through subsidies. Think about that for a minute.

quote:I don’t have strong feelings about PSLF being good or bad policy, but I do want to clarify something, being I keep seeing references to “government” or “bureaucratic” jobs, and the scope is actually considerably larger than that: LINK
I consider serving in the military a whole lot more vital than encouraging more people to work in Government and create more bureaucratic red tape and BS so they can keep their jobs so no.
As just one example, without PSLF, attracting talented young prosecutors to full time DA’s offices would become significantly more difficult without increasing salaries by probably around 50%. But outside of government entirely, any 501c3 that isn’t excluded because it’s a political or union org, etc, is also eligible. Then non 501c3 that meet the listed areas in that link are, also.
It would surprise me to find out that even a quarter of PSLF recipients spent the majority of their “service” at a government entity.
