In reality it would move, but what I assumed the question was implying is that the treadmill was moving in a exact opposite direction on the x-axis, therefore preventing the plane from moving forward in the x-axis.
If the plane is not moving forward along the x-axis, lift cannot be generated.
The question does not state that the plane is starting from a stopped position.
It is a poorly worded question.

I think if someone built a device that is capable of producing this test, it would end in a scenario where the plane does not take off.
The balancing force against the thrust would come from the tangential force required to turn the wheels backwards against the forward rolling from thrust. This means there will be momentary differences in speed between treadmill belt and tire perimeter. It would have to spin very fast but the plane would not be able to make forward ground. Completely out of the realm of possibility

Of course, just like the plane would move. This is simple physics. There is no force that cancels out the force from the jet.
This is essentially the same as asking if a jet will cause motion over a frictionless surface. The answer is yes, because the jet is not relying on transferring power to the ground to move.

If the speed of the treadmill was over V2 or takeoff speed, what would happen if a "trapdoor" opened and it dropped below the plane. Would the plane then fly?

Mythbusters did it with RC planes and conveyor belts... the planes all took off just like normal.

Nope, in their experiment they pulled the conveyer at 25mph in the opposite direction and the plane went forward at 25mph to take off. Meaning the wheels were spinning like it was going 50mph. Not the same here. They were matching the planes takeoff speed, not the wheel speed.
A plane with wheels can't advance down a runway unless the wheels spin. They have to spin faster for it to go faster. Same on the treadmill, it can't advance down the treadmill unless the wheels spin at rate faster than the treadmill spins them.
Same as a car on a treadmill, it can't advance forward on the treadmill unless the wheels spin fast enough for it too. Doesn't matter where the propulsion is coming from, how strong the thrust is, etc. The WHEELS have to spin faster or it doesn't move forward. Period!!!
You are too stuck on thrust, where it's coming from ,etc that you are forgetting the wheels still have to spin at rate that let's them advance forward and allows the plane to advance forward. If the conveyer matches then they cant.
