quote:There are a few matches that were there just to fill time last night (Mysterio vs Mysterio and the 6 woman tag) but aside from Hurt vs Testament, tonight should be better (and will likely run to 11.) The press conference last night added over an hour. HHH deserves a vacation. He closed it out at 1:30 Philly time (which considering he's a EDT resident is a legit late night).
WrestleMania III had 12 matches and only ran 3 hours! Not every match has to play out like Citizen Kane.
I really miss the pre-FOX/Covid lineup of NXT on Friday night, HOF on its own Saturday night, WM on Sunday, RAW in Monday, and SD ending Mania week on Tuesday. However, you'd either have to cut matches or run WM 3 timing. I thought the Usos deserved more time but I'm struggling to think of a match they could've shaved time from.
I'm trying to keep that other wrestling promotion out of my comments this weekend. However I'll point out their PPV matches are even longer and filled with a bunch of gymnastics or blood. If you like that then it's awesome for you. If you want a fast match, go ahead and watch Speed on Wednesdays.

Tonight should not be hard to top last night. Last night was decent but not great. Tonight’s card looks great on paper. Let’s just hope the performers are up to the task. Tonight has the potential to be epic with storylines all over the place. As of now HHH put the matches in perfect order for a climax tonight.

Tony still playing damage control from the punk interview. Saw he was going to release the wembley footage on dynamite.

That’s wild. Is this a ratings stunt, an attempt to smear Punk, or a little bit of both? It feels awfully petty and desperate…

Tonight really just feels like creative's last effort to get Kross over. They have got to have plans for him and Bobby throw down.
Him and AOP have essentially been jobbers. I can't wrap my head around why HHH and WWE just can't figure out what to do with him. It was a huge fail not bringing him up from NXT with his identical gimmic and not just having him run ruffshod over the roster.
Instead, he became a ball gag away from being The Gimp.

quote:I hated the weather updates but I think the cold weather played a big part in it too. Cold weather affects the crowd in just about every sport/outdoor event. But yes, the crowd this whole weekend has so far been very mediocre.
The only drawback yesterday was the crowd in Philly seemed very muted. I think it has to due with the size of the venue and it being open air.

You specifically listed two matches as filler matches, but can’t think of any that they could have cut time from to give to a brother-vs-brother blow off they’ve been building to for a year+?

Good thing they don’t listen to you because every single change they made that you mentioned above has been an improvement and the balance sheet shows it. The quality of the product shows it.

He’s really just an entrance and a hot valet. Nothing that interesting or unique about him. Omos is more interesting than him at this point and has a higher ceiling.
AOP just feels like generic big boys you’d find on a late 90s wrestling game.

They're just not that interesting.

They paired them with Seth and they were cannon fodder then, what the hell made them think that putting them with Kross would make it any better?
I honestly don’t think even Heyman could make them interesting.

That match sticks out so much on an otherwise stacked card tonight.

quote:Well short of cutting a match there wasn't anything. And frankly the only match that would've made sense to cut was the 6 woman (because it had next to nothing to build it up). It never should have been made but once it was announced it would've been a PR disaster to cancel.

quote:Disagree. I'm glad there's two nights of 3.5-4 hours of Mania instead of 6 hours on one night. The problem is how it's laid out... specifically Friday/Saturday. Having SD/HOF/NXT/Night 1 all within a 28 hour span leads to a fatigued Night one crowd. I'd love to go to the Mania NXT show but there's just no way since we'll be saving money with a hotel on the other side of the MN/WI border. We'll be doing SD/HOF (as long as the lineup is good), both nights of Wrestlemania, and then heading home after Monday's PMS. Unless they want to drop 5 figures on hotels and tickets, I think most people have to pick and choose where their priorities are.

Just reading that itinerary exhausts me. I can’t imagine doing it. There can be too much of a good thing.

All of those shows will sell out. The WWE doesn't care about fan fatigue. They care about making money.
