Choosing to keep pushing up a hill he will never get to the top.
Let’s say, he gets his way. Forces lsu athletes to come out for the anthem or face revoke of scholarship.
2 major problems will arise
1. Pushing college kids who can go anywhere to submit or prove a point. Public opinion will ensue.
2. Kids will go other places because of this and athletics will fall off.

Landry doesn't have the balls to attack LSU football.

In 48 hours, Jeff has done more to hurt LSU recruiting than the Washington Post and the LA Times could have ever hoped to do.
Landry is validarting the little brother syndrome that afflicts USL people.

You only care now? Where were you during football season?

I don’t think he realizes that he has attacked LSU football. To my knowledge football team is not on field for anthem. (Correct me if this is wrong) I guess he is suggesting they have to change pre-game…?

Incorrect. They are paid for with self-raised revenues and/or donations.
You are correct for football, not sure about women’s basketball. Depends if the sport is profitable.
Regardless, I’m a paying customer and donor.

I think you should take a stand, write a letter and stop being a fan and donor.

So the governor (a state official) writes a letter to the LSU Board of Supervisors (the governing board of a state university) wanting them to compel participation of students in the national anthem.
Yeah, totally no issues with violation of the First Amendment with these actions. Completely constitutional.

But if he passes this the football team must be on the field too. He didn’t specifically say which sports.

So since neither team in the other Elite 8 game (UConn and South Carolina) was on the court during the playing of the national anthem on Monday, those teams have received negative national attention, too, right? The answer is no.

Is that a fact?

Yep. To hell with the consequences and the money the AG’s office would have to spend trying to defend the constitutionality of this dumb shite in federal court.

Does Ole Miss basketball go out for anthem?

If they aren't on the court, they are protesting. You can act like they weren't but that's why they weren't on the court. Imagine supporting a bunch of anti American losers.
So Georgia basketball and football protest the anthem every game?

No idea. If not there are douchebags and if the state feels it isn’t the how they want them repping than they can do something about it.
I really don’t care. I live in Tennessee. I only jumped in this thread because people are being intellectually dishonest. If you don’t care if they go out there that’s cool. If you do it’s cool too. But we know why they stopped going out there several years ago. If we are being honest we know.

But i also don't select governor's for their hot takes on sports.
Do you at least select them for their knowledge on what may potentially be unconstitutional, considering that a governor is a state actor (in the executive branch of a state) and takes an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States and the Louisiana State Constitution?

Again intellectually dishonest. Football teams have a big entrance right after so they are generally in the tunnel.

Newsflash: Scholarships are paid for by taxpayers
The athletic department pays the school for every athletic scholarship they offer/use. It’s a pretty nice check that the athletic department writes every year from the funds raised by the athletic department.
