First of all I was literally stating facts. Second, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with us having concern about the lack of depth in the post position. We have talent but what we lack is experience. Morrow is the only true experience we have in the post, with ADR & Smith only having one full season under their belts.

We have the scholarships, so yes we would like another seasoned PF/C to balance out the lack of experience in these positions.

There is no question next years team, this is BY FAR Kim's best group of guards overall top to bottom. Frankly the entire offense should run through the guards next year similar to Kim's first team at LSU with Pointer/Cherry/Morris.

The only remaining question is how LSU deals with the loss of Reese on the interior. We return Smith, Rosario and Morrow, then add Jersey who mostly played the perimeter at Arkansas. I'm not concerned with having some major scoring replacing Reese, we have a lot of offensive firepower between Morrow, MK, Flaujae, Day-Wilson, Gilbert. The question is how LSU replaces or at least covers the interior defense/rebounding presence Angel brought. I don't think its necessarily ideal to put Smith at the 5 the entire game tbh, she is more a 4, she is 6'2 and physically is a bit more slender. It'll be interesting if they add one more player, frankly they just need a role player who can rebound and defend at this point. Or they roll the dice and put all their eggs into the development of Rosario and Jersey

Gardiner is not playing center and would not have started over Morrow.

My concern right now is i f they swing for the stars and miss out on anything. Makes me second-guess not taking Shaqs daughter right now. But I will be patient.

They will be lucky to get one the way it looks. Frankly all they need is a rotational big to spell Morrow and Smith. Del is improving as she gets older and will be just fine. They don’t need a super star just some depth.

Seems like they may be done, not even a whisper of anyone due to visit along with not a lot of big names left.

The fourth post player in the rotation should have been a highly regarded incoming freshman recruit. Unfortunately, Redus struck out on all of them, which necessitated striking it big in the portal.

Don’t discount the impact this offseason of the recruiting job governor jethro bodine laid on us. He did a better job of negative recruiting LSU than Dawn Staley could have dreamed of.

Sorry, meant to reply to Tigerbait357. Is there any chance/hope that Coach Kim and Asst Coach Daphne can help 6'3" Bartlett this off season? She will be a senior so she has been in Kim's system for 3 years. If she is going to help the team, this is the year, her final year. Can she at least help on defense, rebounding, and assists? She was Kim's top recruit in 2021, ranked #51, but hasn't transitioned in college play or SEC the past 3 years. Is there anything she can do to help the team this year, other than sitting on the bench and not coming in to play until 2-3 minutes left in games when we are way ahead during blowouts?

Very doubtful if she was not usable in any of her 3 years here she would be ready all of a sudden. She has played as much as Izzzy the walk on.

Unless she can sneak in Dauda or Barker (who was allegedly off the board weeks ago), the only option lsu has left is to look internationally or find a juco player with size

I believe lsu was in contact with a 6’6 juco player from Australia but she isn’t eligible to leave until after next season

She will be in same role as previous years. Pretty much just keeping good vibes on team and play in blowouts end of game.

Unless ADR makes a big jump next season , the roster as it stands now will be a sold team but not championship caliber.

The roster as it stands now—god forbid we have a serious injury to Smith or Morrow. Hell, we’re in scary shape if one of the two gets in early foul trouble.

I was hoping we could wish and hope for ADR to make a big jump from a position of strength and leverage. Now it’s just about a goddamn necessity.
