Is the coaching of Mike Brown blowing you away or something? You think he is doing a better job than Willie?
I believe we have more talent than the kings and they are barely below us in the standings. Sabonis is basically a 4 playing 5. Yes hes doing a better job than Willie based on his personnel.

I’m just saying he was an up and coming coach.
X’s and O’s are a little overrated in today’s NBA anyway. Guys want to play for coaches they like and everyone is awesome so they can score at will.
Not saying they don’t matter but culture and chemistry matter more

Sabonis really is a 4. Its why we basically kill the Kings. They don’t have real size. Yet despite all that, they’re barely below us in the standings.

Chet is an underweight rookie who is really a 4 playing center
It is kind of wild that you're comparing the difficulty of figuring out what to do with the #1 overall draft pick who will finish 2nd the the ROY voting to Larry Nance

Lol they are NOT overrated. Whats overrated is culture snd communication.
Guys want to play for coaches they like and everyone can score at will?? Bro what are you talking about?? This is the NBA not an AAU basketball team. We need solid X and O coach against these top teams if you want to go anywhere. Culture and communication wont do shite.

Chet has been great as a rookie but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have issues playing center. You’re acting like thats not possible. They are one of the worst rebounding teams in the league. Why do you think that is???
I never mentioned Nance you moron- learn reading comprehension.

You need to listen to the basketball illuminati podcast episode centered around Borrego's mysterious Charlotte hiring. It was from a year or two ago. One of the first episodes from the show and it was really good.
I’ll have to check that out. Im not saying Borrego is the answer but I didn’t think he was bad especially with the roster he had in charlotte.

If Griff was set on Willie, he’d already be extended.
This is a big point to keep in mind. The fact he hasn’t been extended yet just means we (the fans) aren’t the only ones that see issues with Willie.

quote:Problem is, he's in charge of the rotations, and has massively failed at that despite very obvious eye test and data to show him the way.
He gets blasted for bad rotations, but he’s not in charge of the roster
quote:One is a clearcut better choice, and also, the decision doesn't have to be just between the 2 of them.
it’s not his fault we don’t have rim protection and he’s often forced to choose between Larry and Jonas which can be lose lose.
quote:The personnel is fine. The problem is he has no vision to adapt his process to our roster, and he's trying force his process on to a team that doesn't have the roster to successfully install his process. He's not adaptive, that's a very bad sign for a coach.
He doesn’t always make perfect choices, but he’s also hamstrung by our personnel
quote:We've gotten better in each of the 3 seasons under WIllie.
Overall the team this year is better than it should be, what else can he do?
Ask yourself, is that because of Willie or is that because of Zion going from 0 to 29 to 70 games played?

Would you say we are not maximizing are talent?

If you're fine with being the pre-Kerr GSWs, then Willie is perfectly fine. Good team that's competitive but has no shot of reaching their full potential. It depends on what this organization is content with a the end of the day.

Lol yes I was just about to say this. Sabonis set a record for consecutive double doubles since the nba-aba merger 50 years ago and Chet would be rookie of the year in most other seasons.
The biggest weakness on our team is we need better centers, especially someone who can shoot. Look at the top nba teams:
Boston - Porzingis and Hortford
Minny - Naz and KAT
Denver - Jokic
Bucks - Portis and Lopez
If you have someone like Zion, it’s imperative to find a center who can shoot. Not sure if it took Griff this long to realize it, or if he’s tried and not been able to work out a trade, but I’m worried we’re stuck as a good not great team until we find the right center.
What’s annoying is both Val and Nance can hit threes but it’s so low volume it doesn’t matter.

Sabonis is a 4. He has put up monster stats but the kings interior defense is absolute dog shite. Chet has been a great rookie but the thunder have had major interior defense and rebounding issues. Both are great players but that doesn’t mean they’re the perfect centers.

Overall I think he’s doing a good job
I think he’s doing the absolute bare minimum to keep his head above water and the average fan on side.
To me we simply aren’t doing good enough. We aren’t playing as well as we should be and we certainly aren’t going beyond expectations. Imagine that! Playing like OKC and leading the charge when no one expected it… that would be nice.
We are often careless, try to out talent people rather than play a solid fundamental game with good quick ball movement, we melt leads away, crumble under pressure, weird rotations.
Demand more! We should be fricking elite by now.
I’m not unhappy / dissatisfied… just a bit disappointed.

Some of this should be on the FO for not upgrading/adding a big man at the deadline. Dallas got Gafford for a late first and he would have been a great replacement for Nance's minutes right now.
But maybe Griffin had no way of knowing Willie was going to fall in love with Nance late in the season

You were making a point in response to this...

But ok.
Maybe slow down your posting a bit so you can keep up with what subject you're even talking about.

I was responding to his main point in his post not a sentence you picked out of his post. His point was Willie doesnt have the right personnel and I responded basically by showing that not all teams have the exact right personnel. This in no way meant I was making a direct comparison between Nance and Chet.
Maybe slow down your reading so maybe you can respond properly to what I’m posting about. Damn even when you’re wrong- Its my fault because I posted too fast for you lol. You’re hilarious.

Yeah, that made no sense. Not only do the Kings have a center, they have one of the best centers in the NBA.
