I’ll continue to enjoy this team until
the season plays out. I like these guys. I’m not an owner or GM. I’m a fan, and that’s fine with me.

It’s weird seeing so many negative reactions to losing to the best team in the nba when we’re missing our 2nd best player and backup point guard.

Nah I like to react as dramatically as possible game to game. Finals or play in exit baby

We can take losing. We’ve done that long enough. We can’t take a stubborn coach who’s essentially making decision for self preservation and not in the interest of the team. Or maybe he’s just that terrible of a coach.

4”self preservation” in evolves winning. I don’t see your point.

Playing it safe instead of riding the hot hand. He doesn’t take chances on the fly. Hes got a set rotation that’s ultra conservative and rides with that no matter what. His mind is made up before the game even starts.

He played with no center in the 4th. That’s the opposite of what you’re saying. What is obvious is he doesn’t like his center options and that has to be fixed in the offseason.

It's not losing 1 game to a very good team without BI. The negativity comes from the repeated wasting of opportunity. No team was better positioned to make a jump to the top echelon than the Pelicans. The Thunder and Magic made huge jumps through coaching and internal improvement. The Wolves and Cavs made huge jumps by using their draft capital. With nowhere near the resources, the Mavs picked up team changing pieces in each of the last 2 deadlines while we dumped Graham and Kira to save money. Those teams have focused on competing for a championship. The Pelicans have focused on getting a check from the taxpaying teams.
You're happy that we are a good, competitive team. That's the difference. If nearly any other franchise had young players like Zion, Ingram, Herb, and Trey along with a mountain of draft assets, they would be doing everything possible to make them the next NBA dynasty. Any coach or player not furthering that would be expendable. But in New Orleans, not sucking while staying under the luxury tax is plenty good enough.

Thats fine but as a coach you make the best of what you have. You maximize your roster. Playing Nance 30 plus minutes is not maximizing your roster. This is where Willie really struggles.

He wants a unicorn at center. The only guys that fit that mold in free agency this year is Olynyk, Saric, and Love. But none of those guys are ideal. I don't think any rookie is going to come in and unseat Nance. Griff can go out there and makes an aggressive offer to land a guy like Jarrett Allen. But we'll probably be in a tough situation going into next season since JV isn't valued by Green and the options are limited.

Sure, I’d love to win the championship. So would 29 other teams.

Thank you for saying this.
This is the issue.
Complacent with being average when the tools are there to excel. Then you have fans sunshine pumping and not holding the orgs feet to the fire.
How many stars has this franchise failed and then lost? That’s what’s gonna happen again. Overpaid bi and zion pushing for a trade. Rinse and repeat.
This team will fall into the play in and then lose. Watch.

The idea of changing the centers really doesn't make as much sense as changing the person who can more correctly utilize the players in question.

Exactly. At what point do we say to Willie you have the talent- you just need to use it properly. No team is perfectly built. Heck even the Celtics will tell you KP doesn’t like centers posting him up inside. But what Mazzula does so well is he maximizes the talent on his roster so it gives him the best chance to win.

I am FIRMLY in this camp. We are good rather than average but we absolutely should be better than good.
3 decades of mediocrity (sprinkled with the odd good season) .. now is the time
and it’s frustrating we aren’t absolute top tier with the players and resources we have.
Will always be a fan and invest time, money and lack of sleep in doing so… would be nice to experience success and I want it to be with this group so bad

if you REALLY don't understand where the negative reactions are coming from or what they are for then you are a fricking idiot and should be banned simply because you are too dense to participate in any logical discussion on this forum...

Oh I’m a fricking idiot because I’m not crying like a little soy boy bitch after losing to the Celtics without BI and Jose? This Celtics team is having of the best regular seasons in recent memory.
You know who’s an idiot? Anyone that thinks a team that started 1-13 two years ago who’s now a top 8 team is an average team. You gotta be particularly stupid to think a team on pace to win 50 games whose core is almost all young players is “average”. That’s a special type of stupid.
Which is dumber:
A. Losing to one the best teams in recent memory without your 2nd best player and without your backup PG means your average
B. Not over reacting to a regular season basketball game when your team is less than 100%
A lot of bitch made posters who clearly never did anything competitive in there life showing there arse here. It’s ALWAYS the ones who never played sports or did anything competitive who overreact to regular season loses.
We’re a top 8 team in the nba after starting 1-13 two years ago. Chill the frick out and stop being a little cry baby pussy. We’re gonna be just fine.

why would you?
why would anyone?
it happens after every loss. We act like the seasons over.

If they were going to handle the center position this way they should have made some type of move at the deadline. You have to think they are severely frustrating JV and he will ultimately not be interested in staying around. Jonas brings it for every game, is a starting center in the league, and he is getting constantly benched. If they keep handling it this way he will just expire and we will have limited space to sign someone and limited salary to use in a trade.

I’d say it may have been more frustrating to waste a roster that included CP3,
Tyson Chandler and David West.
But that’s ancient history.
