I’m impressed with her fight. She is 100% committed to these girls. I don’t coach on this level but I will always stand up and fight for my players and coaches, regardless of age.

Who would downvote that? Was the High School valedictorian also?

Not only that, but CKM said the article basically said UCLA vs LSU was “good vs evil” then went on to say something like, “Evil? How dare you call these kids evil.” She said the LA times article was sexist (not just for the “dirty debutantes” label applied to the LSU ladies but also for how they infantilized the UCLA women as “milk and cookies”) and challenged the women reporters and women in the sport to call out people disrespecting the student athletes in such a sexist way. Honestly, it was a mic drop moment.

I read both articles.

The WaPo article was obviously slanted and had an agenda to paint Mulkey in a negative light - my biggest issues with it was questioning the author’s motivations for writing it.

The LA Times article, on the other hand, was completely uncalled for - especially the usage of “good and evil” and “dirty debutants.” It was racist and sexist, and the reporter who wrote it should issue an
apology.

Truth…they underestimate her because she has a north Louisiana accent.

Im pretty sure that’s a Tickfaw, South Louisiana, accent. Otherwise, you are correct about people equating a southern accent with less intelligence

Debatable.

You could make a case that the best way to fight it is mutually assured destruction.
