The word yarek, which we translate as thigh in this passage, has a wide semantic domain: side, hip, thigh. In a few instances, it can be understood as a euphemism for “loins” but it’s only used in reference to men.

I am well aware of euphemisms in the Hebrew Bible. Your interpretations are shoddy, though, since you seem to only be able to infer sexual innuendos when you read the passages.

Even if yarek means “womb” in this passage, niphal means to fall away, die, or rot. In other words, her womb would become barren.

Again, there is no mention of pregnancy in this passage. The curse happens to the woman alone.

No

I don’t think you are, which is why I’m explaining this to you.

Your analysis of my interpretation is faulty. And I will infer sexual innuendos when they are clearly present.

It doesn’t. “beten” is “womb”. Check your Hebrew. The “beten” swells and the “yarek” rots.

The god-given instructions in Numbers 5 is for a man who is married (the marriage exists when the man “knows” the woman for the first time). He then suspects she has cheated but doesn’t know for sure and has no evidence and no witnesses. They have to get a priest to make a magic (poisoned) potion for the woman to drink. Gee, I wonder what would give the man reason to suspect she has cheated? Could it be because she is pregnant? If she is guilty and she drinks the potion and her womb rots and she can no longer have children, how the hell are these people going to know the results of the potion? Something has got to come out. The “thigh” falling away is the dead baby coming out as a miscarriage that they can witness.

Go ahead and lie to yourself and delude yourself because your perfect and just LORD endorses ritual abortion.
