There are supposed to be an influx of over 500,000 people coming into Boerne area for this thing. Crazy crazy.

It was like Saturday college football crowds in terms of quantity of people....but on a Monday. I'd never seen such a diversity of license plates, they came from ALL over.
that's what they're telling us. Baylor and UMHB are selling tickets to watch them from the stadium.

How bad is traffic going to be after the eclipse is over? Houston to Austin. Should people wait until the late afternoon or should the drive on I-10 to 71 be ok?

I’ve taken off work the 9th as well so I’m not jammed up on the way out. I assume the back stretch from San Marcos to Luling/i10 is gonna be stacked up with people leaving. I’m just gonna stay put and relax.

I remember back circa 1978 there was a big eclipse or something. I was in 3rd grade and as the big day was getting closer, we designed contraptions that we put on our heads with cardboard, tin foil, and construction paper, and stuck a tiny pin-hole in it so we could see out. Does this sound like something anyone else did? And why the tin foil?

So people want to see the Sun get blocked and the sky get dark but now they might not be able to do that because the Sun will be blocked and the sky will get dark.
Tragic.

Couldn't imagine going through life not giving a shite about the natural wonders of our universe.
I more mean the hype around it. Is it cool? Sure. I love space shite. But the amount of freaking out about it is a little strange IMO. That's all.

I’m gonna eat some shrooms and throw on some Pink Floyd or Circles Around the Sun to watch some cool astrological happenings. Ain’t mad at it.

I guess I'm the only person that couldn't give less of a shite about the eclipse?
I've seen a few. I have two kids that are into it, and it is a reason to travel to a place I've never been.

Way, Way, Way to early to predict.
My local Facebook Weather Guy (who is way more accurate then the Tv's people) will have a better grasp on it 2 to 3 days before the event.

They got to be overblowing this a little don't you think? Hopefully so.
I was talking to a sheriff deputy and he said they were preparing for 281 to be bumper to bumper from Johnson City to Burnet. That's a long way of 4 lane highway. Texas is big place. Surely it wont be that bad all over the damn state. Nevertheless they are going up and down 281 telling residents to be prepared to not be able to leave their house and almost no emergency services.

We were just outside of the path of totality in 2017. Coolest thing I got was pictures of the shadows where you could see the reflection of the eclipse:

You knew they weren’t gonna allow anybody to actually see it. The cloud making machine will be wide open. So will the spraying.
